[The comm clicks on to an active video stream, where a mostly-empty Iskaulit room has some sparse decor- a long table, a couple of chairs, some sort of design board, and a... mannequin? A very crude-looking one, anyway.

Suddenly a hefty-looking box - some might recognize the familiar appearance of a sponsor drop - floats into view, is plopped down on the floor, and opened. Long swatches of fabric are pulled out and draped over the edges, some soft and beautiful, others rather silly looking. Once it seems as if enough of the fabrics are on display, someone huffs quietly.]

Apparently someone thinks I ought to be sewing more- or, more likely, they want us all looking presentable. Much as I don't like indulging our audience, we all know how dull time between planets can get, and I've been thinking about this for a while anyway, so... I guess you can call this my unofficial sewing shop? At least, I'm open to taking project commissions. It doesn't have a name or anything... oh, this is Mikleo, for those who don't know. I don't show up on camera, sorry.

Let's see, examples of my work... ah, Sorey, here-

[There's a bit of shuffling and quiet voices, and Sorey is prodded into view, clad in an intricately embroidered tunic. He waves awkwardly.]

This is a replica of one he used to have at home, so if you need a redesign or modification of an existing piece, I can do that. And hang on-

[Sorey is dragged off. More shuffling about, and a moment later he's back wearing something a little less fantasy. This is repeated a couple of times to showcase differing style and skill level, until at last his poor model is released from duty.]

You get the idea. Anyway, if you want to make an order, I'll be over on the Iskaulit for a while, or we can hash things out with the communicator until we're ready to take measurements. For pricing...

...I have no idea how to even decide that. At least the cost of materials, I suppose.

[True to his word, Mikleo will be hanging out in his new Iskaulit room, decorating it and organizing the mess of fabrics he's had dumped upon him. Come visit! And for those who don't know him, Mikleo is a spirit so check out his resonance permissions, eyyy. If you can't see or hear him, be sure to bring your communicator!

Later, Mikleo will be back on the Huntress, spending some time in the lounge or in his room as he sketches out some designs for new projects or gets some sewing done on current ones.]

The size of the universe makes guessing difficult. Most people get it wrong even when I tell them. Humans call us "malak"- an elemental spirit, more or less.

[He's given up on using seraph at this point, since everyone and their mother just think that's an angel or whatever.]

Malak... [He makes a thoughtful noise] I definitely would never have guessed that.

So, you thought there might be a possibility I could see you. What criteria is there to actually perceive you? some sort of magical inclination? a second sight?

It's complicated, but magical ability helps, as does a certain level of spirituality. Religious types often have resonance in this place. Sometimes I think it's just the luck of the draw, in truth.

Well, I am neither religious nor magical so I guess that explains me. How many people on the ship fit either of those criteria?

In the fleet itself, there's actually a lot. The Atroma seem to like people with some sort of supernatural ability. Resonance works differently here than I'm used to, though- on my world, even spiritual people can go their entire lives never seeing someone like me. Here, some can hear or even see me within a few months of being around me.

So you're saying exposure can also help? At least those with the inclination towards already having a 'sight' as such. Will that technique work for me as I have neither but also don't doubt your existence?

Or is it simply a case of always using the communicators?

I can't say for sure one way or another, unfortunately. It's not something I can control or fully understand.

[He shrugs, while the gesture may or may not come through clearly via the sheet.]

To be honest, it's a bit weird. I'm not used to so many people being able to see or hear me at all.

Don't you find being invisible lonely though?

Well, I'm not invisible to everyone. There are people who can see and hear me just fine, so I have plenty of company. And being invisible has its benefits at times.

[He folds the sheet up and sets it on a table, walking a few feet away, so there's no longer an indication of where he might be.]

I can sneak into places others might not be allowed, because no one tries to stop me. And it's great for ghost pranks.

[Tim watches the sheet be folded and placed down on the table and then tries really hard to figure out if Mikleo has moved or simply stayed in place. He mostly looks very confused and like he's thinking too hard.]

Are you known for playing many pranks?

[Now he just looks wary, like Mikleo is going to grab him out of nowhere]

Heh.

[Evidently he's playing a prank right now! ....But it's short-lived, as after a moment he returns to the fabric pile and lifts another sheet out of the box, shaking it out and folding it up more neatly.]

Not often, no. Usually I just help other ser- er, malakhim who are more inclined to do that.

[Tim turns to keep Mikleo in his 'sight' for all the good that will do if Mikleo chooses not to make his presence obvious]

Are there more Malak on the fleet? or are you the only one?

I'd hate to walk straight into someone...

We're pretty good at dodging people. If we really concentrate on our element, we just phase right through people sometimes.

[Just to freak him out a little bit extra.]

There's one other. We're both on the Huntress.

Your element? Can I ask what yours is?

I would say I'll keep an eye out for them but I guess that won't do me a lick of good regardless.

I don't mind. It's water.

The other is wind, and he tends to make his presence known more often than not, so you'll likely feel him around if he's nearby.

So I guess, I should ask some things for the business plan? It's mostly I guess about how difficult you find certain items and how long they take you?

[And then they had a lively conversation about business, inventory, and management, and Mikleo probably understood about half of it, because what is capitalism.

Still, it's useful information! He's written most of it down and will be taking it to heart.]

It actually gets worse. I still don't know how the conversation got to this point but not only matching outfits but matching Sugar Glider superhero uniforms.

I'm not familiar with that specific name, but... superhero? I had no idea he was interested in- well, I guess they're not stories, here.

It's a type of animal, I think it came up because he thinks the code name Red Robin isn't very intimidating and decided if I could do Robin, I could also do Sugar Glider?

I'm pretty sure he just did it to mess with me but I agreed and if I back down now, well I don't think he'd let me live it down?

That sounds like something Taako, would do, from what I know of him. Honestly it could go either way.
