[Honestly, this waking up on the Marsiva with a coughing fit thing is getting old.  Also confusing this time round, because she's pretty sure she didn't go home.  There's nothing to go home to.  When she checks the network, she finds she's been gone for months.

...where?

In light of feeling like death warmed up, she elects to pull the blankets up in the room she finds herself in and rest.  When she can hold a conversation without sounding so raw, she'll hit the network.  The last time this happened she hadn't been sure of her welcome.  This time, she knows.  People will have missed her.

Which is a good feeling.  She'll need to let them know she's all right.]

[As it turns out, she's only on the Marsiva for a matter of hours, which is new.  The musical intro is what wakes her as she's dumped suddenly onto the bridge of an unfamiliar ship.  Instinctively, then, she shields her face, because the last thing she needs to do right now is inhale the confetti that comes raining down.  It would be a terrible first impression.

So... it's not the most graceful entrance she's ever done, that's for sure-- meet your new Tactical officer?  A thin, sickly woman in a kimono.  Hi. She'll do her best to introduce herself to the crew politely and then find a way to whichever room will be hers for the time being.  She'd like nothing more than to go back to sleep, but at this point it would be the height of rudeness not to alert people to her return.

...I'm glad you're both still together here. [For one to leave without the other would be painful. But she is relieved to hear Sorey is still here. One of her favourites, go figure.]

How is the restaurant?

The restaurant is doing fine. It's under new management, actually- a proper chef, someone who knows a lot more recipes than I do. Look for an... elf? Named Taako.

An elf...? [Like Maglor? That seems a weird fit. But the point is moot at the moment, to be sure.]

Are you still working there yourself?

More casually than before, but yeah. It's a little short-staffed, still, if you're at all interested in coming back. In your own time, of course- you've only just arrived.

[It's on reduced hours anyway while Taako recovers, so it's not as if there's any rush.]

I think I would like that. But it will have to wait for now. I should... avoid closed quarters.

We can, but not like humans. We're sickened by malevolence. ...And extreme pollution, evidently.

[Which... makes sense, considering the elemental aspect of their existence, but not something he'd experienced until joining the fleet.]

That is a small relief, then. I don't need to avoid everyone.

Yeah, exactly. Whatever it is, I can't imagine it having any effect on me. And anyway, I can heal toxins as well as injuries.

You're a healer? I did not realise.

Injuries are rare enough in the fleet that it isn't really widespread information, but yes. Not the best, but good in a pinch.

I'm glad. [The world needs more healers. It helps offset all the death-dealers, tbh.] It's an admirable skill.

I sort of learned it out of necessity. Sorey's always been reckless, and he was even worse as a kid. He was always getting into trouble.

Far, far too much, believe me. He'd go running off into ancient ruins and fall down broken passages, get himself lost or trapped in a puzzle room...

[And of course Mikleo would be there right with him in as much trouble, but he doesn't have to say that part.]

An adventurous sort. My brother and I were like that, back when we were young. Though I don't think we ever found something so impressive as an ancient ruin.

To be fair, just about anything can be exciting to a child, if they've never seen it before. It just so happens that our village was near some old ruins.

Mmm, that's true. But most old ruins don't have... puzzle rooms, did you say?

Do they not? I always see them in the ruins I've visited.
