Who: Grievous
Broadcast: Everywhere
Action: Marsiva
When: Not long after everyone is transported, prior to the night's calibrations
[The cyborg is holding up a pair of very large and colourful fuzzy slippers. Strangely shaped, for his clawed metal feet they would be a perfect fit. Yet there's confusion in his gruff voice.]
What is the purpose of these? Are they some sort of toothless pet?

Are teeth a pet requirement for you? Are the lack of teeth really the only thing making you unsure if it is a pet? So many questions. So little time.
no subject
Although... if they had been living they also appear to have been skinned. If this a fur for wearing?
no subject
It wasn't skinned... Probably. [Okay, she doesn't actually know. She was just hoping for synthetic.] They're slippers. I think. [They are uniquely shaped after all, but the general look is the same as the one she got.]
no subject
[He's still rather confused, not used to shoes of any sort.]

Android? I am not a droid.
[He's clearly offended now.]
I am General Grievous, of the Kaleesh. I lead the greatest droid army ever seen in the galaxy, but I am not one of them.
no subject
Sorry. No offense intended. I shouldn't have assumed.
I'm Kitty Pryde. Fresh out of any armies. Captain of the Twin Roses. Mutant from Earth.
no subject
What is the Twin Roses? One of these ships?

[There's a trace of offence again, as someone more used to leading and giving the orders - even if he ultimately wasn't the one in charge.]
How often do we get called back to where we began and given such ... 'slippers'....?
[Uncertainty once more about the footwear, which he briefly lifts into view again to give a look.]
no subject
This is the third time since the fleet's been running. There might only be one person left who remembers the first time personally though. [She's thinking of Vash who has been around since the very beginning, but she doesn't know how early the first calibrations were. The fleet was about two years underway when she showed up.] I don't actually remember if we had slippers last time. [She doubts that's the most important part of the inquiry, but just for accuracy...]
no subject
[That's his immediate assumption of there only being one person left from those days.]
no subject
Well, not that we know of anyway. [It's entirely possible. It just challenges some of the other things they know about this place. Honestly, dark assumptions are kind of where she lives.] They're gone. You can't die here. They bring you back.
no subject
And yet we cannot die?

They are called slippers. Their purpose is to keep a man's feet warm.
no subject
[He misunderstood. Even prior to becoming a cyborg he didn't wear slippers nor any other shoes.]
no subject
I am not truly sure why they are named that, Sir. But they do not slip. They are merely warm to mortal flesh.
no subject
I do not have such flesh to keep warm.
no subject
The Atroma play at hospitality, but they are exceedingly poor at it. Your lack of flesh would never have crossed their mind.
no subject
Did you want to keep them? They look comfy.
no subject
no subject
They're for relaxin'
You're not supposed to move around in them.
no subject
[Not something he does all that often.]

Because I'll totally trade if you want.

I got.... [Sora moves his device so that Grievous and see his room. He has a lot of homemade knick-knacks, some weapons (a couple of guns on the table, a trident against the wall), and a lot of snacks he bought from planets and way stations.]
Stuff? It's slippers so the trade should be fair. You like snacks?
no subject
Those weapons. Are they real or are they mere toys?
no subject
The Trident is mostly for show but it reminded me of home.
And waitaminute, you don't partake? Like you don't eat? At all? Isn't that boring?
no subject
[Well, as with sleeping, he doesn't need regular food and drink to survive but he does need something occasionally. But he won't say that here. The majority of the time he needs neither rest nor food. He doesn't even have a way to eat it normally.]
Here, where there is no combat, it is difficult to find other ways to pass the time.
no subject
So you want to fight? [He doesn't seem to be judging that thought. He's only curious.]
no subject
[Also spoken simply. A fact, not a boast.]
no subject
Alright. So do you like to spar? Or are you the 'only fight to maim' kind of guy?
no subject
no subject
Yes totally! How about we trade the slippers for some sparring matches?
no subject
no subject
But, sparring is something I should be doing anyway, so I'm in.
no subject
[He knows his is a fearsome visage to many, but of course his reputation is not so known here.]
no subject
You can talk, first of all. A lot of the stuff I've fought are totally mindless.
no subject
[He's not stalling. He's genuinely curious.]
no subject
voice;
No wonder Mags wanted his arms.
Time to mess with him and make an enemy, probably. In Taako's most deadpan serious voice he answers:]
Yes. They're a pet. You have to take good care of it or it'll eat you at night.
no subject
[The tone is skeptical.]
no subject
[The illusion of safety is the greatest enemy of survival.]
But trust me - if you don't take care of 'em, they'll overtake you at night. I know a guy.
no subject
Others have said they are to be worn on the feet. If this is so, then they would also be crushed and so prove no further threat.
no subject
It's pretty fucked up actually.
[But also fuuuck everyone for being honest and messing with his fun.]
Most people here take good care of them though, so not a lot of people have gotten eaten by 'em.
