[ He's not actually planning on hunting anything that goes bump, but Steve is curious about them anyway. It's been a long time since he worried about anything but getting away from his former employers, and before that, there wasn't really much of a call for curiosity. And before that, well. It's been a long time.
So you can find him wandering the woods, keeping an eye out for signs and portents that something not-exactly-human passed through, but mostly just admiring the great outdoors because it's there. Because he can. He does end up at the Lodge, mostly to listen to professional hunter stories and see the museum. And hope the animals were actually dead before being stuffed. ]

[ He doesn't spend a lot of time around civilized people. The townsfolk seem happy with their visitors, but maybe Steve is too paranoid for his own good, so keeping interaction with them to a minimum seems logical. He does shop for a couple of things, like a decent knife (nothing overtly military, but good to have in a pinch) and a set of simple clothing, for when he needs a change from the uniforms on board ship.
Pitching in, if a local needs something repaired, is also a possibility, but for the most part, he'll just be wandering through town and chatting with anyone brave enough to ignore the perma-scowl on his face. ]

[ This seems like a good time to explore the ship with all the distractions on it, which means Steve will find himself on board at some point. Maybe even several times. He'll check out the restaurants and bars and the library to see what kind of book stock they have. And he'll visit the mural, partially to see who has come before him, and partially just to enjoy the artistic sensibilities. ]

[ Have an idea for meeting on the planet or aboard ship? Toss it here. ]
