[Simon smiles at the camera, before he clears his throat and addresses everyone.]

Ah- hello to members of the Drift Fleet, old and new. I'm Simon, the medical officer on the Bloodsport. It seems that my sister River has been going around and making lots of friends since she arrived here- I would like to speak to and get to know all of you in turn if you wish. I will be here on the Bloodsport and making housecalls elsewhere as needed.

[Perhaps he's treating you on your ship. Maybe you visit him on the Bloodsport or run into him at the waystation the Fleet is currently docked in while he scrounges for food and medicine. No matter what, Simon wants to know the people his sister is bonding with. Why not say hello?]

[Oh hey, guess who was wandering past while you made that little speech. Manolo pauses, and smiles, giving a little wave.]

She's a good person, your sister. [Weird, but not weirder than anything else he's seen before. ] I'm Manolo, I'm the counsellor here.

She is. [Simon smiles and walks up to Manolo, offering a hand to shake.] I'm sorry for not introducing myself sooner, Manolo; it seems like I had barely gotten here when we were attacked, and I have been busy ever since.

Oh, so you're the guy she kept going on about.

Somehow I am not surprised she has talked about me a lot- she and I are very close. I hope she was not a bother.

Not a bother. A little hard to decipher, but not a bother.

Believe me, even I have trouble following along sometimes. But I am glad to hear that- knowing her, she wanted to thoroughly explore her surroundings as soon as she arrived. Including the people.

[Adra rubs his chin. He supposes this guy would be the best person to ask.] That psychic thing she does. Is that deliberate on her part?

Don't worry about it, things got pretty crazy for a while there.

[He nods.]

Have you been here for long?

[Simon frowns. Well, at least he wouldn't have to explain that she was psychic to begin with- it was a fact Simon tried to keep close to his chest, but he supposed it was natural that some here might be able to figure it out for themselves- indeed, would be psychic themselves.]

It is not voluntary, no. She has... problems controlling her abilities.

[Simon may very well regret that invitation.

Cole turns up with bandages, an assortment of leaves and flowers and knives. Four knives, to be specific, two of which are sheathed across his back and two of which are bundled in his arms in their sheaths.

He wanders into the ship like he lives there and beelines for the bright point of compassion. He then realises that's Manolo and swerves off, following River's impression of her brother back to the source.]

Healing herbs, housing but home with you here, her moon dances in the pull of the planet.

[Simon is rather surprised by the man's sudden appearance, but the man's words make it clear what his purpose is, and he wonders of the flowers and plants are meant to be a gift.]

I take it you have met my sister- she speaks of us in terms of a moon orbiting her planet. I hope she was not a bother?

A river, winding, wending, washed to the bone, water flows and changes but remains the same.

[Congratulations, Simon, River found someone much more like her than anyone else. And now he's found you.]

She's the moon, changing but unchanging, knowing the routes because you're there to show her. This isn't elfroot, but it helps with pain and infection.

[He hands over some of the leaves.]

Flowers steeped in water for parasites and nausea. You're bright and warm, I could sense you from the station, giving, gifting, gracious.

This is my second month. Longer than I planned on being here at all, but it turns out getting out of here is harder than I though.

[Having seen Simon's announcement, Beverly decides to pay Simon a visit on his ship. She's been meaning to contact him again anyway, to see how he is adjusting. Guessing that, like her, he'll be found somewhere around the ship's labs and sickbay, she makes her way there and knocks politely on the door frame.]

Dr. Tam?

Oh, you're River's brother? She visited our ship for a little while. Need me to come over or anything?

[ Steph's sitting cross-legged on top of a table in the empty courtyard of the waystation - it's not exactly fresh air, but it's closer to it than they have on the ships.

She's scanning the network when she spots Simon, and though she hadn't responded to his post earlier, she certainly noticed. She lifts a hand to wave him over. ]

Hey! You're River's brother, right?

Seemed that way. I guess I can't fault her for it, then.

[Because he sure would have otherwise. It's clear that River is a unique case, though.]

[hey man, this is just your captain popping his head in to see how things are going.]

We're going to be getting some visitors, huh?

Yes- I hope that is okay. [Simon looks sheepish.] I probably should have asked first.

I have been getting that impression, yes... nobody can choose to leave. I wish we could at least know when we are getting off. It might make being stuck here a bit more bearable.

[He nods.]

She has had her powers since bith, but they are quite rare in my world, so nobody I know of had knowledge that would aid her in learning to control them.

[Which was the truth... but not the whole truth.]

She is always the same to me... my beautiful sister, no matter which way she winds. I am always happy to guide her when I can.

[Simon couldn't help but smile at the man's way of speaking- he thought his sister may have been glad to find someone who talked like her and would thus more easily understand her. He held out his hands and accepted the offering.]

Thank you for the gifts- I will always accept anything to help my patients. I'm sure she told you I am a doctor... I take the oath I swore to heal others very seriously. [He then cocked his head to one side.] You were able to sense me?

[Simon had been studying the herbs Cole had gifted him when he looked up at the knock, smiling at his new guest.]

Dr. Crusher- please come in. Have you been doing well?

I hope she was not a bother- seems like she made a lot of visits her first week here.

If you do not have the time, speaking over the network is fine with me.
