Who: Noctis and YOU
Broadcast: Fleet-wide, video
Action: Marsiva's Hospitality Deck
When: April 1st
Introduction
[If this is a communicator post, it's certainly accidental, as the camera's focused on someone who's asleep. It's boring for several seconds as the person isn't doing much and all one can see is their back, until they roll over...right off the bed and onto the floor. Oops.]
Wha--I'm awake! Couldn't you just shake me?
[There's no immediate answer, and he sits up, rubbing his shoulder and turning his head in an attempt to hear whoever's nearby. There's no answer, and no matter how hard he tries to listen, he can't even be sure there's a person in the immediate area besides him.]
Not funny...seriously?
Help?
[A few hours later, there's a more purposeful recording--video, even though it's currently filming his feet--because Noctis has found out how to at least record and send a message with the device.]
Anyone out there? Uh...name's Noctis, just woke up here. Wherever the hell that is.
Found this phone...thing...but it doesn't recognize any numbers I put into it.
[He sounds a little panicked, despite trying not to.]
Any information is helpful. Thanks.

[She turns towards Noctis, frowning. This is a lovely start to an excellent day.]
If you're going to fall, can you at least do so more gracefully? Some of us are trying to sleep.
no subject
[Good, they're both having awesome days.]
no subject
Well, there's little point now. This place is suffocating.
no subject
[It has beds and a floor. That is the extent of his knowledge, besides that it may or may not be on terra firma.]
no subject
[She looks at Noctis. There's something about him that seems familiar, and yet...]
I believe you were here once before. Of course, it's not uncommon for people to wake up without remembering.
no subject
[It's actually a pretty good explanation for why he's unfamiliar with the place, but he's skeptical because 'Marsiva' doesn't sound the least bit familiar to him, and he can't even visually determine if he's seen the place.]
Yeah, I don't remember being on any ship by that name. Do...am I supposed to know you?
no subject
I don’t think we spoke more than once or twice before. But by the way you talk, it sounds as if you have no memories of this place at all.
You’re currently serving as a member of the Drift Fleet; you were kidnapped by the Atroma to be a spectacle for others’ amusement. The Fleet travels from planet to planet. Some planets are kind, most are not.

That's awesome.
[Not really, of course.]
So we're on the...mothership? Of a group of spaceships and--wait, what about others' amusement?
Re: see icon keywords
[She sighs. This really is the worst part.]
Our time here is broadcast for others to watch. I have no idea why, except that the Atroma delight in watching our torment.
no subject
Like I haven't had enough of that in my life. Does anyone know what these Atroma are? Is there some way to confront them?
no subject
Many have tried to confront them, none have succeeded.
no subject
[This is disappointing so far.]
So they're one of those all-powerful, untouchable groups, then? That sucks.
[He doesn't even know where to start offering suggestions on how to deal with them, though, so he won't.]
no subject
[Rose frowns. This is the worst part of all of this, honestly. The feeling of helplessness and inability to change the situation.]
Back home, I make my living fighting gods. But here, I cannot fight what I cannot reach. I doubt this is going to change any time soon.
no subject
[That's a feeling he knows pretty well, especially lately. You can't change what you don't know how to change, you must do this and this and this because that's how things are supposed to work out.
And speaking of gods...]
Fighting gods? Do you make a living out of it or is there another reason?
no subject
[People she cares about, at that. If it were only strangers, she's not sure she'd bother.]
no subject
[Sounds a bit like 'Eos', his own world.]
Sounds like the gods back home. Except less lazy--the Six created a bunch of problems for humanity and then old me to go fix them thousands of years later.
[Mostly by dying, but he's not going to mention that bit.]
no subject
[Which is nearly constantly, but, y'know.]
They have the ability to 'temper' people; it's essential a brainwashing that you can't break free of, even after the primal is felled. Usually, it's not long before those who are tempered end up dead.
[A nice way of saying "Killed by their respective countries."]
no subject
I've known mornings like those. Not quite what I'd prefer, but it's better than falling out of bed and into a puddle of mud.
no subject
I'd rather not be falling out of bed at all, thanks.
[He'll at least try to recover a little bit of his dignity by finding the edge of the bed and using it to pull himself up.]
no subject
True. [He can't help but notice the feeling around for the bed to pull himself up and wonders at it, though he won't say anything.] Do you still require help? I'm new to this world myself, but I'll see what I can do.
no subject
...And who you are. I don't recognize your voice.
no subject
Looks like you're in a barracks, likely aboard one of the ships wandering the worlds with us or the mother ship. Not sure which one by the look of it - they're all the same up close. Haven't met your captain yet, I suppose. You can call me Undertaker.
no subject
[That's...an interesting name.]
...Undertaker? Like...for dead people?
[Don't tell him he's died for good this time.]
no subject
Once upon a time, yes. It was my job back home, but not here. These days you'll find me in a medical lab on the Goldstone. Funny the way things end up, isn't it?
Hello, Noctis. I'm Mikumo. I'd welcome you to the Fleet, but sometimes I think that being here isn't the fun and games they tell us it will be.
As for your device, it's not really a phone. Numbers don't do anything.
no subject
[On the plus side, he's had a couple months to get used to it, so he's gotten pretty good at moving around and even a little bit of fighting. Unfortunately, he's still soundly defeated by things like uneven ground and new places.]
I appreciate it anyway.
[At least he can talk to people over the...not-phone...even if he can't interact with most of them in person yet.]
And that explains a lot.
no subject
[He will. He just has to be patient, which, decidedly is not her favorite thing to do, either. So, she's not going to tell him that that's his option.]
It does, doesn't it. When I got here, the communication devices that I had with me didn't work either. But soon, you get used to these things. They're pretty easy.
no subject
[He'd thank her for that. Being patient isn't his weakest trait, but he's not known for it either.]
no subject
[She'll try because she really should be nicer to people.]
Although, sometimes, the shuffle onto another ship is rather uneventful. The people are nice and the rooms are fine, but all of the ships are different.
