[ She nods a little ] Commander, then. Nice to meet you. Is that one you picked, or just one you got stuck with?

Pretty much any name is one you get stuck with.

True, I guess. I had the chance to pick mine, though, so I'm probably biased.

Yes, the Caprine. Nice folks, so far, though the Captain looks unsettlingly similar to a friend of mine. What about you?

The Golden. Only met one of my crew members so far, but he's... not too weird.

The people here seem good.

That's always a good thing. It's bad enough we get kidnapped and all, but if we had to put up with a bunch of assholes the whole time, I think someone would end up thrown out an airlock.

Almost certainly. As long as it hasn't actually gotten to the point of following through, though, I'm optimistic.
