[Ulaz has found the flouds. There certainly are a lot of them where he had ended up while exploring. As he's standing there, one can barely see the forest through the ... flouds]

Interesting creatures. I don't know that I have ever seen something quite like this before.

[One of the flouds noses into frame and makes a bleat at him. He reaches out to pet it, a faint smile on his face at how happy it seems to make the creature]

Does anyone know what these are?

Action
[The underground city was interesting, but in the end it was far too much for Ulaz so he had taken to going out in the jungle and exploring. Forget the dinosaurs and other creatures that might want to eat others. He takes that as practice in avoiding attacks.

He can also be found on the Blameless, going about his normal assignments or getting a cup of tea in the dining room. It still... doesn't feel quite right on the ship. Like something is missing]

They're called flouds, apparently, and they're like super fluffy even more adorable sheep. Uh, sheep are creatures from Earth. But yeah. They're amazing!

Of course, except for them. They are clearly cuter.

Flouds? I see. Seems oddly appropriate. They are very fluffy indeed. I was surprised to find them here with everything else that is around.

Glad we agree! I would've had to reconsider our friendship if you said otherwise.

[His furbabies are serious business, okay.]

At least it's a good surprise, and they're not some giant carnivorous beasts that thirst for the blood of offworlders. I hate it when we end up on planets with those.

They will always be the two cutest I know.

There seem to be a few of those, but these certainly aren't them.

Yeah. I'm trying to be careful when exploring above ground because I've heard there are some big nasties, emphasis on the big, but so far I haven't encountered anything more dangerous than giant clouds of pollen that make me hack my lungs up. I'm not allergic to it but it gets all caught up in my mouth and throat and just, gross.

Of course I am.

There are some very large creatures here. I have been actively trying to avoid them. I have noticed there is a lot of pollen. Given the amount of plants on the surface and the weather, it would make sense. Still be careful. If you need any assistance, let me know.

[At some point, when Ulaz is in the dining area, he's going to be joined by the newest crewmember, who looks like he just woke up from a nap and who is carefully making his way to a seat with a drink in one hand and a plate of something in the other. He hopes it's not a culinary abomination like some of his attempts have been.

He thinks there might be someone else already there, but isn't sure.]

[Ulaz looks up as the newest crew member entered the dining area. He gives him a nod as he comes over to a seat. He's unconcerned about the fact he looks like he just woke. With two werewolves on the ship who slept during daylight hours and worked at night, he's used to people being up and moving at completely different times]

It is afternoon I believe. That's what the clocks say at least.

You going to adopt one? [Someone might look amused.]

Seems funny to take something like this.

[Yes, he has thought enough about it to consider how odd it might seem]

Well... it could be useful, I guess. Wool can be pretty versatile.

If that's similar to Earth sheep wool.

[Keith shrugged a little.]

I suppose they do have their use.

What sort of things would you do with sheep wool?

Uh... well... make things. Blankets, sweaters, coats, socks... usually stuff to keep you warm. You have to be careful, though. Some humans are allergic and it makes them itch.

I see. They seem very versatile creatures then. They would have benefit on the ships as long as they were kept away from people who are allergic to them.

Yeah. And, we're actually helping them by sheering off the wool each year. They don't need it in the summer, and it can get all tangled and ratty looking. This way, it stays healthier. Also, it grows back, so it's not like they'll be cold when the weather cools down. Almost like a never-ending supply.

That is helpful. I can see why they would be useful to have around. You make a good case for having some on the ship.

Heh. Well, that wasn't my original reason for putting it out there. I mean, they're useful, but they still need to be cared for like any other animal... cleaned up after, fed, taken care of if they get sick... stuff like that.

Of course they do. Like any other animal. I would be surprised if they didn’t.

[Keith looked a little amused.]

[Keith chuckled a little.]

Does it? Then I will have to see about bringing this one back.

I should make sure that the ship is ready for me to bring it back first.

[That got a small chuckle, and then Keith nodded.]

Yeah, probably. I hope no one on the Blameless is allergic.

As far I as I know they are not. It is best to check with the two werewolves on the ship though before introducing an animal like this into their midst.

That might be a good idea.
