[Cargo bay might be worth looking at. She's going to be doing a lot of exploring the next few days. It won't change the situation, but it might make her a little more comfortable in her skin.

She'll just be poking around in the sleeping quarters a moment while Polly answers the detective's question, staking out a bunk.]

Just a week so far. The ship is just as new.

[She's watching both of them, though she doesn't mind if Natasha goes through the lockers. No one had enough on them when they arrived for there to be anything private.]

Guess that means there's nothing much to tinker with yet, huh? [He gives a lopsided grin- trying to get a do-over on this whole crew thing, clearly.]

[Natasha won't go rummaging through the lockers just yet. Plenty of time for poking her nose around when everyone's gone about their business. She does pick the bottom left bunk, since it gives her a decent view of the room and the doorway, setting her small bundle down on it before looking back to the pair of them.]

Either they really like us, to give us this shiny new ship, or they're handicapping us by giving us a ship without the upgrades. Either way, I guess they expect big things. Aside from being captain, you pilot the ship, Polly?

[Just making assumptions from how protective she got of the bridge.]

[Mal had taken apart her ship's engine, so apparently there's plenty to tinker with. Although Polly is just confused by it.

In answer to whether she pilots the ship:] I do. It's why I was on the bridge, though I set it to autopilot for now so we won't crash.
