Is it a conspiracy if it's really happening?

Who: The Interceptor Fleet representatives and any Drift Fleet members who wish to attend

[ Before We Begin... ]
[ There's still some time before everything is set to start. The representatives for The Interceptors are already here, of course - you can talk freely to Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, Kid ("Angel"), or Duo Maxwell, if you choose. Answers to any questions you have might get put on hold until during or after the meeting... unless you just want to know more about them and their fleet, personally. That's up to their own discretion~ ]

[ The Game Plan ]
[ Right on time - not even a second after - Dr. Mrs. The Monarch moves to the center to begin. ]

All right. We've got a lot to talk about. So let's get started with what's most important: we've got a way into the Marsiva, and we're gonna take it.

When Duo and I got stuck in there for those damn Calibrations, he set up some explosives to help us get out of there - which wouldn't have worked on its own, but he managed to hit something pretty damn important: the reparative generators. They're still online, but as you probably noticed from the looks of the ship right now, they're not doing so hot. And that's perfect for us. Honestly, if we can locate those and hit 'em again, that'd be all the better for us, wouldn't you think?

The Marsiva's shields... those used to be a huge problem, but apparently our designated Interceptor fleet stowaway got 'em down after you guys helped him get a lock on our location in there - which, thank you for all that, by the way. You guys know who you are. Calibrations could've been... a lot worse otherwise. Anyway, Zhade's pretty damn sure he can do it again. Just needs some time, some backup firepower, and the perfect opening.

That's where you guys are gonna come in. Not sure how long you guys are staying in this system - it's usually about an Earth month or so, right? - but use that time to upgrade your ships, especially the weapons. Probably the shields, too. I don't know, depends on how you wanna run things. Hell, arm yourselves too, 'cause we'll be boarding that thing and taking down who or whatever's in our way. [ A pause. ] Maybe we'll run into your lovely show hosts. Wouldn't that be fun.

I don't know exactly who or what we'll run into in there, but we've got enough intel that we can make an educated guess: it won't be human. Probably won't even be humanoid, unless it sends some kind of worker robots at us. Does it even have those? I don't know. I can't predict what's gonna happen, so be ready for just about anything. Whatever's in there, we've gotta deal with it if we're gonna have any chance of freeing ourselves for good, especially if we wanna get home.

And... As for getting home... I have some ideas. And theories. And honestly, I bet I can get it to work out in everyone's favor if I can just get at whatever makes the whole pulling-people-from-other-worlds thing happen. We've found a lot of hints and some really valuable tools, but I can't make a one hundred percent fully formed plan until I know exactly what I'm working with. So once we get inside, that's what I'm gonna be looking for. And if any of you are weird-alien-technology-magic-inclined, well, I could probably use some extra pairs of hands once we find whatever it is to work with. But trust me, I'll get it to work. ... I've got a husband to get back to. And I know a lot of you feel the same way.

So, that's the overview. In short? Hit the Marsiva to get its attention. Zhade drops the shields. Hit the Marsiva even harder, aiming for the reparative generators. Board it. Find Atroma - whatever they are - and make 'em pay. Get to the bottom of what's brought us and is keeping us here. Figure it out, save the day, everybody wins. Sound good?

Yeah, that I can do. Here is fine, to be honest, since this meeting is all about that.

[He nodded his head, indicating they step to the side. There were a few things that were specific to them, however.]

The Interceptor Fleet commander finally gave us the green light to being able to share everything, so I don't have to hold back anymore. There's a plus... sort of.

[Duo leaned against a tree at the edge of the clearing.]

Rather than repeat stuff you already know, why don't you tell me what you've found out so far?

It is.

[Quatre liked having all of the information, not having anything with held from him]

So far I have learned this is in fact a television for entertainment, that people can leave and come back as well as death being temporary, sometimes augments don't match people's actual skills. Fan mail kiosk even though we've never seen fans of the show.

[Duo nodded.]

Well, the show is run by an entity named Atroma. No one's heard directly from them in a really long time. There are two 'hosts', like game show hosts almost, that speak on Atroma's behalf and interact with the passengers of the Fleet.

The group I'm with was part of the previous cycle. The cycles seem to work like seasons for televisions shows back home. The thing is... we managed to find a way to free ourselves from the grips of the show... just not a way to get back home from this particular universe.

[And here, Duo's expression got a little dark.]

Thing is, during our attempt, a lot of stuff went bad. The augments really don't like to be taken out of people's heads. Some people went nuts, others died. It wasn't pretty. Also, the Atroma didn't exactly like that we managed to find a way to disconnect ourselves from its network and push the ships to flee. As we got close to the edge of the range, the ships themselves started to shake and act like they were breaking down. Some went into self-destruct mode. And whatever we were able to get out of there, the Marsiva attacked us. It doesn't look like it, but there are some pretty massive weapons in there. [He sighed.]

You're right about people coming and going... having been here before... coming back... dying and then reviving. The thing is, once we started disconnecting things and breaking away, that dying thing became relatively permanent. None of the people who died were revived. However, when the next cycle started, we started noticing that there was a chance those people might get pulled into your group.

And some did. [Duo was pretty sure that Quatre had picked up on where this was going already, but...] Q, you were in the last cycle with me. You didn't make it through the escape.

[Quatre listened to all of that. Some of it had picked up from others already, but he wasn't going to interrupt. But it's those last couple of sentences that get him and he's still quiet for a long time after Duo said. It was worrying to hear that in this world he had died once before.

Of course what did one say to that. Well, if you were Quatre...]

I'm sorry. I should have tried harder.

[Duo's brow pinched slightly in response.]

Dude... I'm not angry at you. You really gotta stop apologizing for everything like that. If anything, we didn't try hard enough to prevent anyone from reacting badly to taking out those augments.

[He sighed.]

I'm just glad that things like that don't work the same here as they do back home. Granted, without our connection to Atroma, anyone who died... well, that was it. But, when the new cycle started, we had a feeling that people would come back that way.

It's a lot harder to face in practice than theory, though. [Duo steeled himself for a second.] Either way, I'm still really glad to see you. It means that what happened here really didn't affect back home, just like we thought. That's a good sign.

[Seriously, Duo. How did you not expect this response from Quatre?]

Well, I'm glad that for all of this, my being back here is a good sign. I was getting worried when talking to others.

[Not that he wasn't still worried, but since Duo was at least not outright panicking about him being here. He'll take it. His space heart still worked and he could sense of the tension in the air as well, but it wasn't enough to cause him pain]

And I'm glad to see you as well. I wasn't sure I was going to see anyone else from home.

So far, it's just been us. I didn't see anyone else, either, during my cycle or this one.

[Duo shrugged slightly.]

Either way, I guess it's okay. I mean, it means they aren't stuck here, at least. But, I have to admit, it's been kinda lonely without anyone else from home. It would be nice to have the crew, yanno?

[Quatre nodded, understanding the sentiment. It would have been nice to see them but seeing them meant they were stuck too and neither of them wanted that. There was no winning with either option]

It would be nice, especially going into a situation like what Dr. Mrs. the Monarch described. [That name was a mouthful...] All three of them would be very helpful. Not that we are incapable either.

[But there was a special kind of insanity that was Heero Yuy]

[Yeah... a mouthful alright. Duo nodded a little, and then smirked. Heero was definitely special, but they were all a little nuts in Duo's opinion. If they weren't, they wouldn't have tried to pull off what they did.]

Nah. I think we can do this. We've got some good people here to work with, even a few that can be a bit like who we're used to in the right moments, so it should be alright.

We're more prepared this time.

That's good. I'll do whatever I have to in order to help. I know I haven't been here long.

[He smiled]

Maybe I came back just to help with this again.

[He's not even scared. He never really has been]

That would be nice.

[Duo chuckled a bit.]

It'll take a bit to get over the shock, but honest... I am glad to see you.

I'm glad to see you too. It was a shock waking up here on that ship, the Marsiva and then ending up in another ship.

Not that the people here haven't been nice. They have. Very helpful, but there is something about being here with someone you know.

[That got a better smile out of him this time.]

Yeah, definitely. It helps a lot.

[Duo glanced around at the rest of the crowd there for the meeting.]

So, uh... once this is over, this planet seems to have a decent level of civilization, so to speak. Whaddya say we head out and get some food. I'm sure the gels and solids on those ships you're on aren't great.

Though... which augment did you get?

That sounds like a great idea. I'd like that. They really aren't the best thing to eat... or to work with.

[At the question, he kind of chuckled a bit]

Cook. I feel sorry for my ship.

[Duo laughed.]

Oh boy. Well, at least the augment will give you some ideas on how to work with the stuff, but yeah. It's not going to suddenly make you an Iron Chef.

It has given me some idea, but I still don't think I am very good at it. I do my best though. I haven't set anything on fire yet so that's good.

That's... always a plus.

[Duo laughed.]

Which ship are you on, anyway?

I will count everyday I don't set the kitchen on fire as a plus.

[He smiled]

I am on the Huntress.

Good ship. Good crew, from what I've seen.

[Duo nodded.]

I think everyone on your ship will appreciate the lack of kitchen fires. Just uh... make sure you've got a fire extinguisher.

[He winked.]

They seem very nice from what I have seen.

[Quatre chuckled]

Trust me. I always make sure I have one handy before I start any cooking. I know the two of them don't want any fires.

[Duo nodded.

The meeting was starting to wrap up, so he nodded.]

[He smiled, glad to have his friend here]
