[Okay, space? Being in the outside world? Pretty exciting!

She's definitely going to have to find some way to get Zephyr and Vashyron here (unless they're already here?), but in the meantime? Exciting!!]

Hey, everybody! [She waves, grinning brightly.] My name's Leanne and this is all so... awesome!

I've never been anywhere outside of... um, where I'm from before and this is really far! I don't think one of these could even land anywhere there!

[She laughs, shaking her head. Wow, wouldn't a spaceship in Basel be a sight? (Maybe not necessarily a good one either, but ohhhh boy.)]

But I guess I'm supposed to be in the... SS Heron here, huh?

[A pause.] Oh, yeah! If anyone meets two blond guys called Zephyr and Vashyron, tell them Leanne's looking for them and they better come find me already!

[ Wow, you're really cheerful for being suddenly brought here. Very much unlike how Elize was. But you seem nice and... she's trying to get better at speaking to people. ]

My name's Elize Lutus. Hello. Umm... you sound really happy to be here.

[Oh! Oh man, she hadn't realized they'd brought kids here, too. She looks like she's doing all right though...]

Maybe a little. [Leanne winks at her, smiling. Then, after a moment's pause,] I've never been somewhere like this before! So it's pretty exciting.

You don't like it, Elize?

I... uh...

[ She folds her hands in front of her, looking down shyly. She doesn't like it. Teepo isn't here. There are some upsides. ]

I like the friends I made here.

[She leans forward slightly. Okay, that's not really the same thing as liking being here, but...

It's a nice answer anyway, isn't it?]

So you've met a lot of nice people, huh? [She laughs.] That's really good! And you probably wouldn't have met them if you hadn't come here either, right?

[What does she know though. She's totally gonna be really missing her friends back home in a day or two.]

[ Right. Elize only gives a quiet nod in response. It has only been a little less than a month since she joined the fleet, yet she's already missing Teepo, Jude, and everyone else a great deal. She knows a lot of people must feel the same too. ]

Are... Zephyr and Vashyron the names of your friends? [ She hasn't heard of anyone by those names, but she knows friends are very important. ] I'll try to keep an eye out for them.

[Oh... that's adorable... What a sweet kid.]

Yeah. Zephyr and Vashyron... They're my very best friends and I shouldn't leave them alone for too long anyway! They'll probably just get in trouble. So... [She chuckles, running a hand through her hair.] I'm really grateful. Thank you, Elize.

But, um. [Oh, but she can't just accept a kid's help like that!!! At least, not without at least asking...] But you're okay here, right?

You're welcome. [ Best friends. They must be like Teepo then! Friends that are always together. It's terrible that Atroma forces many people to be alone. ]

I'm okay. [ She nods, looking down and swaying her arms. ] I have to be strong until I see my best friend again.

[Leanne looks away, just for a moment. She hadn't really given it that much thought, just a few minutes ago, but...

A little kid being here really doesn't mean their friends and family are with them, does it? It's really gotta be a lot harder for her than for the adults...]

Strong, huh? Well, that's good. Becaaauuse. I bet you're being really strong! And your best friend's probably gonna be really proud of you for it! [A pause.] After they're done being happy to see you.

Y-yes. And I bet you're just as strong too! [ She stops swaying her arms, crossing them in front of her chest instead. This is her attempt to look tough. Leanne isn't the only one who assured her that she's a strong girl. ]

Just like me. I'm strong and I don't cry!

[ ...Anymore. She did cry though. A few times. ]

[No... she's too cute... How is Leanne supposed to answer that??

But it's a bit of a strange feeling, too. Telling herself she can't cry is... something she's done quite a bit in the past, after all. She really hopes Elize hasn't been crying, oops...]

That's right! No matter what happens... We can't cry. Neither of us!

Because... [Oh boy, oh boy, don't panic. What can you say to a kid??] We... We've gotta do lots of fun things to tell our best friends about! And we can't if we're not strong.

[She tried.]

[By the time she's on the Heron, she's bound to run into Killua. He's walking around, checking everything out, meeting who he can, so it's only a matter of time before he spots her. Both hands shoved in his pockets, he comes closer, stopping only at a good distance for conversation to peer up at her.]

Yo. Are you one of my crewmates?

[She's looking around herself by then, peering into every nook and cranny she finds. It takes her a moment to realize he's approaching, but when she does, she straightens up, eyebrows raised.

Huh! Another kid. Maybe that's not a weird thing here?]

Looks like it. [She waves.] I'm Leanne. What's your name?

Killua!

[He smiles, since she seems friendly enough, though instead of lifting his hands from his pockets for a wave, he just lifts his chin a bit in an almost-nod.]

Nice to meet you. So, what do you do? I've only met one of the guys on our ship so far.

[She laughs, shrugging. Well, at least she's not the only one.] That's not so bad. You're the first person I've met on our ship.

[A pause. Oh, right, right! When she arrived on this ship, that was...] But I guess I'm supposed to be Tactical Support. It's a little strange.

Everyone's just showing up, huh?

[Weren't people already on ships? He hadn't run into anyone already set up here. But that train of thought fades at her comments.]

Hm? Why is it strange?

[She nods, brow furrowed. That is pretty weird, isn't it? Everyone just showing up like this and--

--Oh!]

Because they just gave us weird jobs like this! I've never even seen a spaceship before and... How did they pick them anyway?

[But then again... Is it really that different from all the odd jobs from the last two years?]

Didn't they just go off of our skills?

[That's an assumption he had made that he's now wondering. Was this girl actually no good at tactical support? Maybe he got a dud crew.]

But I've never seen one either! It's pretty cool... Do you think we can beam to other ships and stuff, too?

[Their skills... Oh no, her skills are all over the place! Could they really come down to tactical support?]

Probably... [She laughs, a touch awkwardly, but quickly brightens.]

Yeah! That'd be so awesome! And it's probably how they got us here, too, huh? There's gotta be a way.

[Once ensconced on the Heron, he's immediately set on exploring the new surroundings. The differences between the SS Heron and the SS Marsiva are taken in, still in a rather stunned silence. When he spots Leanne he nods his head politely and moves towards her, hands clasped behind his back.]

Hello. It's a lot to take in, isn't it?

[She smiles when she spots him, raising a hand in a wave. All right, more of the people on this ship, all right. She's got this.

Maybe.]

Yeah. [A short laugh.] It definitely is! But it's really cool, too, don't you think?

I think so. I'm still not quite sure what to think!

[He laughs with her, nodding.]

It's different, but ...maybe not bad. Not necessarily, at least.

[He offers a polite bow of his head.]

My name is Anduin.

Tell me about it. It's... Um. [She frowns in thought, hands behind her back and bouncing on the balls of her feet.]

Yeah, you're right. Even if it's really cool, it's still so different! And it's kind of hard to believe we're gonna be here for a while.

[She straightens then, grinning.] But I'm Leanne. It's nice to meet you!

A pleasure, Leanne.

[She's ...different. Interesting. And it's nice to talk to someone as they're exploring.]

Have you ever seen anything like this?

[He sweeps his hand out to gesture to their surroundings.]

Any of this?

No, never! It's really different back home. Nothing like this.

[There aren't enough gears here, for one.]

Honestly... I didn't even know spaceships existed before I got here. [She glances back at him, brow furrowed.] Did you?

Well... I saw Draenei ships - which were sort of like these but made entirely of this beautiful crystal, but they had been docked for years, and I've never been in one while it was flying. Does that count?

[He smiles at the memory as he turns his attention back to Leanne.]

May I ask what was your home like?

I'd say it counts. [A laugh.] They sound like really pretty ships!

[Explaining Basel to someone who's never been there though. That sounds... Oh, boy. How do you explain something that just is, after all?

Still... That's no reason not to try, right?]

Okay. But you've gotta tell me about where you're from, too. And what the Draenei are!

Buuut... It's kind of hard to explain. It's really noisy there sometimes... Because the gears are always turning! So not like here. And it's not all closed like a spaceship, but there's still walls we can't get past.

[A shrug. Wow, that is weird to say.]

Deal. I'll tell you all about them.

[He grins, enjoying her energy and the idea of just sharing information with someone. It's simple but comforting and he grows quiet to listen]

Are the walls invisible? Can you see the sky

[It's hard to get a good mental image, but one is starting to form - and from what he has heard it sounds exciting so far!]

Awesome! Just don't forget, okay? [She grins brightly... then crosses her arms, thinking her answer over.]

Not really. The walls aren't entirely closed, but they're not invisible. [She pauses, shakes her head.] But Basel's really tall and I guess you can see out more if you're in the higher levels, like Chandelier, but... It gets pretty dark if you go further down.

Well, you're a cheery face. Welcome to the Drift Fleet, Leanne.

[there's some pale guy with dark hair on the other end of the video feed, but he smiles and waves at her a little back...]

It gets pretty strange, but it sounds like you may end up liking it here.

[She nods, laughing again. Well, she can't really deny being cheery.]

Thanks! It's just really exciting and... [A shake of her head.] I think I can do strange anyway.

[Maybe.] How strange does it get?

How strange...? Hm...

[what's a good example? he looks thoughtful.]

Well, the hallucinations were pretty odd. There was a month where everyone's augments were glitching out, causing all sorts of weird behavioral things... The fruit-flavored coffee is probably the worst offender, but I'm biased...

[There's a moment's pause, before Leanne huffs out a laugh, shaking her head.

Oh, great. As exciting as spaceships still are, that just sounds like Basel's malfunctions all over again. With hallucinations.]

Seriously? I think I'd rather have the fruit-flavored coffee!

[She doesn't even really drink it.]

[oh, he laughs a bit too.]

Like I said, I'm biased... And it's not all of the bad strange. We've been to a world filled with snow, one covered in an enchanted forest, and run into all kinds of odd alien life.

The other passengers around here are pretty nice too, for the most part.

I guess that's a good kind of strange. And if everyone's like that... [She crosses her arms, but can't really keep herself from smiling again, especially when she hears that description.

Give her a second... Just a second and--]

So you've really met aliens? And went to an enchanted forest! That's awesome! It must have been so pretty and...

Were there lots of flowers there?!
