001 ↯ audio/action

Who: Davesprite and Jade Harley and all y'all.
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: Chilling on the hospitality deck of the Marsiva (with one or both of them, at your preference).
When: Right here, right now.

Sup. [A generic greeting, from a voice a little monotonous and a little bored and probably owned by a teenage boy. That kind of affected carelessness has its tells.]

Has anyone seen a sword. It's sharp, and it's awesome, and it's a fuckin' sword. Which also kind of doesn't belong to me, so returning it asap would be cool, thanks. [There's a beat.] Oh, and if y'all could direct your attention out the nearest window, that would be ace.

[For anyone who actually does as asked, they will be treated to a variety of washed out orange watermarks of a teenage boy's face, somehow plastered against the abyss of space. The kid is wearing sunglasses and might have feathers? Weird. One of the watermarks is definitely giving the ships a thumbs up.]

Feel free to leave feedback on the quality of your experience here.

[And then, when Davesprite is finished talking, another voice pipes in. It belongs to a teenage girl, tone pleasant but distinctly baffled.] Also, hi! My name's Jade, and I am actually really surprised to be here, but I guess I shouldn't assume there's a limit on how many weird worlds one person can get dragged to, huh? I thought it'd be silly to broadcast my own message when Davesprite's standing right here and doing one, too, soooo...if anyone has heard of Asgard, that's where we just came from, and if not, then I guess we really look forward to getting to know all of you!

[For anyone on the hospitality deck of the Marsiva, they'll find one or both of the kids just hanging out. One tall, normal-looking blond kid, save for the sunglasses indoors and black crow wings sticking out of his back, and one normal-looking, buck-toothed girl in glasses, only she has white dog ears on her head.]

Nothin' religious. S'a space station. Had a few of you kids there. Guessin' different, er, versions.

[ He'd only spoken to the Davesprite there once, when Jade went missing. But if he doesn't remember... ]

Nuh uh.

[ don't mind jade - she's just jumping in on this conversation with her own communicator. ]

Were we there, too? How many places like this are there?
justamobster: (But she don't mean a thing to me)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-03 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess that's for the best, yeah? Wasn't a pleasant place.

[ Hearing any version of Jade is all right does put him a little at ease, though he's worried about the one of her that he knows and cared about like a daughter. She'd been through more than any kid should have to go through. ]

You, a buncha your friends, includin' all the li'l gray kids. As for how many of 'em there are... Dunno. Just about every time someone shows up, there's somethin' new. Castles, other space stations, place that steals memories... Too many.

Incredible.

[ jade seems to absolutely mean it, too. the implications are terrifying, of course: sburb had been the original Big Game, and then asgard had changed her definition of "big game" entirely. now, knowing this - how many splintered worlds were out there?

terrifying, definitely. but also incredible. ]

There were a lot of us in Asgard for a long time, too... my friends, and some of the trolls. None of us ever remembered anything else really like it at all. [ but... that's really neither here nor now, is it? she shakes her head, trying to shake it off. time for that later. ] Oh! I'm really sorry, I don't think I caught your name.
justamobster: (Not that I'm that hard to please)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-06 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Name's Ladon. Ladon Ceto. Kept an eye on the Jade at Sacrosanct... much as I could, anyway. [ She tended to do her own thing, regardless of his tendency to worry himself sick over it. ] Good, er, friend of mine showed up here after some place that took away her memories, so it ain't too surprisin' that tends to go happenin', yeah?

Hehe, yeah. I've been told that keeping an eye on me can be a full time job. But... thank you, I think.

[ maybe she doesn't remember it, or maybe this jade was just a different iteration of her entirely. regardless, the gratitude seems sincere. ]

I'm really happy that it looks like people watch out for each other here. It was mostly that way in Asgard, too.

No problem, kiddo.

Havin' ships and crews helps. Whether folks like it or not, we're all important to survivin', so we gotta look after one another. Most everyone I've talked to's friendly, though. Ain't so bad. You and your friend should wind up placed on ships soon.

If you don't remember, it ain't that big a loss. Wasn't sunshine and rainbows.

[ If anything, he hopes that others are free of their memories from the station, especially the more traumatic ones. ] Weren't there for any reason, somethin' 'bout how we got pulled through a rift. Were only on the station 'cuz the crazy broad that ran the place didn't go through with turnin' off all the life support. She sure liked to threaten to, though.
justamobster: (Wrote your name in the sky)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-06 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Batshit's definitely one way of puttin' it. And I think it was only her programmin' that kept her from either handin' us the reigns or shootin' us all out into space. Station was made for, shit, likely millions of people to live there. Never found out why it was just a hundred of us from other worlds. We got too curious or fucked with the rift, and Hypatia'd go berserk.

The folks that brought us here don't seem t'go bein' as easily pissed off. [ Thankfully. He's not sure he could handle another psychotic computer running the show. ]
justamobster: (Could've told me a lie and a lie so thin)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-09 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't doubt she was the one who offed 'em. Rather never find out, though, yeah?

[ Even if he's still stuck in space, at least he's no longer at Sacrosanct. He has no interest in going back, save maybe for rescuing the people stranded there.

Maybe. He's no hero. ]

They're callin' themselves Atroma. S'about all we know. Imagine it's a company of some sort, profitin' off the show.
justamobster: (For your love I'm sorry)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-11 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
From what others've said, they ain't real keen on bein' on the level with us. They show up 'round once a week, blather 'bout watchin' us, then disappear. Don't tend to go answerin' any questions neither.

Buncha shady shit, but guess that's what you can expect from folks who run this kinda racket, yeah?
justamobster: (The time is right so we'd better get on)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-14 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Thought you had wings, not gills.

[ Whether he's just dense or being purposefully obtuse is hard to tell. ] Experiment, though. Hopin' that ain't the case. Rather not go gettin' cut open or nothin'.

[ Science is a scary, scary thing that Ladon has mostly been exposed to through movies involving mad scientists and their abominations running rampant. ]
justamobster: (With no consequence I will do it again)

[personal profile] justamobster 2015-05-16 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[ Ladon is pretty sure at least one of the little gray kids on the station had gills, so he's just not going to question that. ]

Yeah. So far no one's figured out how t'get those out. [ Ladon's aware that it's likely the only reason he can fly the Tourist or its shuttles, but the fact that it can be used as a tracking device is enough for him to throw the perks right out the window if he could get it removed. ]
