Who: Nunnally and you!
Broadcast: Voice, Encrypted individually to everyone (deets below...)
Action: On the Red Fish, at the Comms Officer desk
When: 05/17
[Nunnally has been working on a special idea for the last few months, and she's finally ready to take it on a test drive. Her augment granted her the skill of encryption, and she's been trying to figure out if she could do anything interesting with it. And here is the result, a simplistic program that will automatically encrypt her message differently to every person who answers this message, essentially setting up separate but secure conversations with everyone. So, as she fires it up and settles into her chair for a long talk, she clears her throat.]
[Encrypted to you!]
[ahem] Hello. I hope everyone can hear me... I'm attempting to create secure, encrypted individual conversations with everyone on the fleet. [she chuckles to herself slightly, it sounds ambitious when she says it out loud, but it's been months in the making]
Things have certainly been busy as of late. So, I wanted to create a space where people could simply... talk. Talk about what is on their mind, in confidence. I know many of the ships have counselors, but I also know that sometimes it can be helpful to talk about situations with someone who is removed from the situation-- a stranger.
But, of course, you are under no obligation. Simply... consider this a safe place to talk, and know that someone will be there to listen. [she pauses, and then laughs softly] Or, if you'd prefer to speak of less weighty topics, I would love to hear which protein paste flavor is the most popular.
Either way... thank you, everyone, for your time. [and after that it goes quiet on her end. Feel free to chit chat over the coms device or in person if you're on the Red Fish :D]

encrypted voice
[ the voice is young - clearly a teenage girl - and surprised, though pleasantly so. ]
That's - there are a lot of people here, aren't there? You're very brave.
[ and that pleasant surprise has given way to a friendly, curious warmth. ]
encrypted voice 4evah
Quite a lot of people. But we have nothing but time here, don't we? It seems like a nice way to spend a few days.
[she pauses with a lilting 'hm~' noise]
So, how are you?
no subject
[ and oddly, profoundly homesick; both for home-home and asgard, which had certainly become home in its own way. ]
I've only been here a couple of weeks, but it's not so bad. -- oh! [ the comm devices don't display names like the bracelets did. she's still getting used to that. ] I'm Jade, by the way, it's really nice to meet you. On the Vanquish for now, but probably the Wonderduck soon.
no subject
Oh, and my name is Nunnally! It's nice to meet you as well. [...] If I may ask, why are you transferring to the Wonderduck?
TAGS THIS REALLY LATE sorry

come to the hall when you have a second
no subject
Hello. [she pauses and then adds] Is everything alright?
no subject
he nods, and signs back.]
I asked engineers to fix the bunks. Help me test it?
no subject
She starts as she realizes she had been thinking and not actually responding, and she quickly nod and rolls her chair closer to get a better look at the augmentations. From here it seems like--]
What is this? [she can't remember the sign for lift right now, so she just goes for the more general question]
no subject
Walk your chair here. [he steps on the platform.] This goes down, with this-- [and here are the controls. up, down, very simple.]
no subject
So I can... get in and out of my room?
[I'M SORRY ZHAS, SHE'S MAKING THIS EMBARRASING, but she's just so... touched ;A;]
no subject
Seemed fair.
no subject
Thank you. I... Don't even know what to say beyond that. This is absolutely wonderful.
no subject
Still have to test it.
encrypted of course
Umm... hello!
[ Her voice is small and uncertain, like a shy child. But she really wants to chat and make a new friend. ]
encrypted until otherwise noted! :D
Hello! Are you having a good day?
no subject
My name is Elize. What's your name?
no subject
Would you mind if I asked, how old are you?
no subject
No, I don't mind. I'm twelve.
no subject
[and she is rather young, but she seems to have a handle on all this, at least. That's pretty bold for one so tiny] Do you like your ship, Elize? And the friends you've made here?
[she's so precious, Nunnally has a hard time imagining that she hasn't made friends]
no subject
I like my ship and the friends I've made. I might be transferring soon, b-but... it's not because I don't like being on the Wonderduck.
encrypted forever;
Wow! I didn't even know we could do that... the encryption thing, I mean. That's so smart.
no subject
Thank you, I've been practicing. [she pauses...] I like your hair, there's so many colors.
no subject
for now though, his hair is a good distraction. he immediately gets a little excited about it.]
Yeah? I couldn't decide which color I wanted, so I did a bunch of them. It's going to be weird when it starts fading, but... I think I like it for now. I've been wanting a change for so long.
no subject
[ah, but that second bit catches her attention]
When was the last time that you dyed it?
no subject
Oh, and... [he tips his head down and picks at bits of his bangs as he explains] You know how there was orange on the ends all around here? and the rest was blonde?
...That's how far it had grown out. It used to be all that color.
no subject
Oh, I see... So you've dyed your hair blonde, blue... what other colors?
no subject
...Oh, and I had it dyed pretty dark for a long while. [but he doesn't sound very enthused about that particular memory.] But, yeah. I don't think I'll do that again.
And dark hair makes me look short.
no subject
I suppose everyone looks tall to me, so I'm no judge. [hah..............]
no subject
[and then he laughs. oops.]
And, ha... yeah, I guess even I feel tall around you.
no subject
It's funny how much point of view can alter perspective... In the physical way, and in life. [she's nerding out, but she realizes it]
Ah, I'm sorry, I think I'm getting distracted.
no subject
[what were they even talking about? was it ever something important?
it probably doesn't matter, though, because Nel has enough power to get distracted for the both of them.]
--Oh hey, do you know a girl named Shirley?
no subject
Oh, yes! On the Huntress? She's lovely.
[I think Shirley is on the Huntress..... red I'm sorry I'm too lazy to look it up I'm going to guess in the dark]
I WILL ASSUME YOU'RE RIGHT because I'm lazy too.
I was going to tell you that you should meet her, because I thought you guys would probably get along really well, but I guess you beat me to it.
Encrypted voice
Wow, encrypted messages to everyone in the fleet? That seems like you're taking on quite a burden there. Sure you're up for it?
[Rather than his typical thinly veiled condescension, Adachi's words seem to have a slight ring of concern to them.]
no subject
We have nothing but free time here, and I'm a little young for the... entertainment that's nearby. [ahaha, she's kind of joking. If she wanted to, she's sure her age wouldn't prohibit her from going out and enjoying the sites, but that sounds less fussy than "that's not really my thing"]
It's been a while since we've spoken, have you been asleep?
no subject
[He'd been getting questions about where he'd been a fair amount lately. Guess he'd been flying a little too low on the radar.]
No, I've just been... looking into some security-related stuff for the fleet. Since I'm still kind of new here compared to some of the other fleet members, I wanted to bring myself up to speed on some things.
no subject
Do you have a better understanding of this place now?
no subject
[Adachi gives kind of a weak chuckle in response to Nunnally's question.]
Not as much understanding as I had hoped. There's a still lot to this place that remains a mystery. None the least of which is the true identity of our mysterious abductor.
