[When the video comes on, Clay's got his tongue peeking out at the corner of his lips as he looks at the camera. Once he realizes that it's on, he grins, then gives a little two-fingered salute from his visor.]

Good morning, everyone! You know, I've been here for... what, a whole month, and I haven't even used this thing to talk to everybody? [He's mostly used it to talk to other people, sure, but not addressing the whole fleet. Dang!]

So! My name is Clay Terran, and I'm the pilot of the SS Vanquish. If anyone needs some piloting tips, I've been one for a while back at home, and I've been trained specifically for space travel before I got here. I'd be happy to give tips and pointers, or take advice from any other pilots around here!

As for people who aren't pilots... [He settles to get more comfortable on that dinky cot of his; Vanquish hasn't exactly gotten any fancy upgrades, not that he minds.] What were your dreams before coming here? Your goals? Are you still gonna try going after them, or did this place kind of mess things up for you? Any new ones now that you're here? You can ask me about mine too, if you want!

Also... [Now that grin turns into something more playful.] Anyone else think we ought to rename our currency to Starbucks? [Get it? Get it? ... So some people won't get it but ALL THE SAME.]

I'm being completely serious here, man! [He leans toward the device with a playful smirk.] Gonna need a thousand starbucks. How much you got?

[Alright, that gets a laugh.]

Calm down, kid, what would you even need a thousand bucks for?

[ There's a young woman who looks ready to reply but then she gets to the end of the video and just... yeah, she's laughing. ]

Starbucks. God, no, they don't need an enterprise out in space, too!

[She's met with some amused laughter of his own; it's nice to see that some people know what a Starbucks is! Or maybe it's terrifying, knowing that that store chain really is everywhere.]

Hey, you never know! One day, they could reach out this far. I sure wouldn't be surprised if we ran into a Starbucks planet.

I think I'd rather go for pretentious coffee over grease food, so my bet goes for Planet Starbucks.

[ She grins. ]

Maybe it'll be one of those joint-places. "Best" of both worlds in one convenient world!

Anyway, you said you're a pilot for real?

[Clay shudders visibly and a bit dramatically at that first part, because that just sounds like a nightmare. He's an astronaut! He can't feed his body awful greasy food!

Oh, but the second part gets his attention.]

That's right! I've had my private license for about six years now, and I've done enough astronaut training to be ready for space travel before I got here.

[ Not even a little bit? C'mooon, Clay! ]

Now that is cool. Me, I'm a pilot in the sense that they put in my head. Probably because I fly in other ways and they thought it was clever.

[nO get that grease with a side of meat away from him]

Other ways? What kind of ways? [He's heard of people here who can fly on their own, but oh maaan, is it ever cool to hear every time.]

[ what about the fries, though ]

Like, personal ways. I can fly, which yes means I have a superpower hello, but I've never flown anything else before. That's Justin's thing.

[OOOOOOOOOOH MY GOD]

You can fly? Like, without anything holding you up fly? [It's not the first time he met someone on the fleet who could actually fly, but it's a thrill no matter how many times he's seen people like that.] That - That's so amazing! How do you do it?! Were you scared when you first tried it? How high up can you fly?

Nothing but myself, yeah. I mean, I can fly pretty high but leaving the atmosphere entirely is out of my depth, obviously, and it was kind of a... float... more than a fly at the start. Worked up to all that.

[...He has to snort at that, yeah, sorry, you got him.] That won't makes sense to a whole lotta people, but I say go for it.

[Yessss. Seeing people understand it - and, more importantly, laugh at it, has been the best thing.]

"Chips" is too boring, anyway. I mean, imagine it! How much Starbucks you got?

Hey, no one ever tell you it's not polite to ask a man about his space dough? [Very little, is the answer. His poker face has been very disappointing.]

[Colette's world doesn't have the term 'bucks', so the joke sails over her head to a certain extent... but she likes this topic of conversation. She smiles and scrutinizes the device closely]

Oh, I'd love to hear about your dreams! Mine is... mm, to make the world a peaceful place.

[yes. she literally just said 'world peace', she's that lame]

That's a great dream! What do you think you can do to make it happen?

As for me, my dream was always to go to space. And hey! I'm here now! [And gosh, he sounds so excited about it, even though he's already been here for a while.]
