CRIMES Part 2
Who: Isabela Grace and her crew of ne'er do-wells. Open to friends and friends of friends.
Broadcast: None
Action: Various across the belt (see prompts)
When: Throughout May
Notes: Continuation of Part 1.
{{ Robin Hood Up In Here }}
With Nami's sleuthing, they've managed to find a pretty juicy target. The asteroid Danoth is a small little uninhabitable rock on paper, but it's a warehouse for the Baron Pritchard Calarook, whose primary security is its secrecy (now foiled).
Raider ships are outfitted with a handy dandy stealth drive, so they're past the meager defenses before anyone there knows, so it's just a matter of a) infiltrating the place, b) evading or disabling the security force, and then c) profit.
Isabela Grace is going in through an air vent with the assault team.
{{ Slaves Aren't Cargo, Mate }}
Part of the the Baron's hold is apparently devoted to slavery. Grace's good mood at having taken the facility and browsing through hold after hold of weapons and riches is visibly tarnished at the discovery of a whole wing of people. Talk to her then or-
* * *
-later, after she's released all the slaves on Meston with a pretty substantial percentage of the warehouse loot. She doesn't want them to just get picked up again and sold back into slavery. It's not because she's nice, though, she'll insist. It's for these other reasons that she just doesn't feel like sharing with you this very moment. Shut up!
{{ Drinks are on Me! }}
After a good heist all around, and a few trips to fence off the remaining goods, even split between everyone in the group (with a bit extra for Grace) still leaves everyone pretty happy. Drinks are on her in Telluria!
{{ All Good Things }}
It seems that the Baron Pritchard Calarook doesn't take kindly to being robbed blind, so the first indication that things might be going to shit while everyone gets drunk is the Aveline getting blown to shit. He's a well connected man, and he's tracked then down and sent a gunship and a small battalion to make an example of everyone.
Oops.

Slaves aren't cargo - after
Still. It's good to witness it with his own eyes. To know it's not a fluke. He smiles softly, coming to stand beside her. ]
Awful thing for your reputation, this. Twice now, isn't it?

[ She wondered how he'd found out about that. But maybe a Rivaini captain letting loose a shipload of slaves near Kirkwall lent itself to stories. Obviously, she hadn't tried hard enough to stamp that out. ]
no subject
Of course you don't.
[He puts a hand on her shoulder, rare initiated touch from the elf. ]
It is still a good thing. This thing you absolutely have not done.

The past stays in the past. The good just as much as the bad.
[ That's how she slept at night, anyway. ]
no subject
Of course. But it comes out sometimes anyway.
[He glances off into the middle distance, the way the former slaves had gone. ]
They will certainly never forget it, though.
no subject
The past and I have a lot in common, then. Refusing to do what we're told.
[ Her gaze follows his. ]
Who cares what they think? They better not get kidnapped again, is all I have to say. They're on their own now.
no subject
[His lips twitch upwards, just a little, as he returns the gesture. ]
I am sure they will be careful not to allow themselves to fall into the wrong hands again. So long as they keep themselves sharp.
no subject
I think it's time to get very drunk, what do you say?

That way we can start a barfight and ruin a lot of rich prick's days.
no subject
You always know how to make my day.

That much, I can do. I'll even buy you a few drinks.
