[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

[He's just wandering around the virtual reality thing, not really knowing what to make of it, when he stumbles upon Chris. Cole's aware that Chris can sense him and doesn't really do anything to draw attention to himself as he looks at the ruined skyline. Once he's done, he lets out a low whistle and moves to sit next to Chris on the bench.]

Remind me to never ask Wyatt to decorate for me. [He's trying for a joke, but it's a bad one.] How are you holding up after everything, Kit?

[ Chris just shakes his head and sits back on the bench, turning to look up at the holographic sky instead of the actual surroundings. ]

I'm fine. This isn't any worse than... anything else I've dealt with. As long as no one's hurt, right?

[Cole just tilts his head a little to the side as he looks over at Chris, bent over and elbows resting on his knees.]

This being not as bad as anything else you've dealt with doesn't mean that it isn't bothering you, but you've always been strong. [He wants to be his usual touchy self, but after the mess he put Chris through, he doubts that'd be completely welcome right now.] You mind if I change the surroundings or do you want to keep it the same?

[ Considering Chris is maintaining their distance and fairly closed off right now? It's a good call. This place brings up memories, and they're ones that he can't deny with his father sitting right next to him. ]

Go for it. This wasn't what I was trying to go for, anyway.

Right then. [He looks up towards the ceiling that he knows is there and can't see.] Alcatraz island, the water tower, early 2000s.

[And it takes a moment, but everything changes around them to fit what Cole's asked for. It's not the same as actually being there, but it has to be better than where they were before. They don't really talk about the future much, so he doesn't know the importance.]

I never really got to ask, but did I take you out here a lot?

[ Chris startles at the location, then kind of slumps in relief. This entire island is sunk in the future and being able to return in the past is pretty grounding. It isn't like being on the Bridge and imagining standing on the broken struts in his own time. There isn't an equivalent.

At Cole's question, he tips his head to the side. ]

Yeah... You did. You liked it, so I liked it.
