[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.

[of course she shows up--she's nosy. she wasn't expecting to find an apocalyptic San Francisco... and a depressed-looking Chris. she takes a deep breath, and... walks up to him.]

So, uh... What's with the busted-up city?

[ Chris grimaces when he hears her voice and merely lifts his head instead of actually looking up. Maybe it's because she's so blatantly magical to his senses and they've... kind of sort of talked about it, more just acknowledged that they're both very magical and their lives are weird, but it's a bit like a mark of shame to be caught in the open with this.

Or maybe it's because Krista would definitely recognize her surroundings and know that this is what it shouldn't be. ]

It's... a long story. Home, though. Remember I said I was from San Francisco? [ He shrugs. ]

Yeah, I remember... [she looks over at the mess again. she's visited San Francisco with her parents. it was nice.] I wanna joke about a giant monster attack, but I'm guessing... not so much...

[ That gets a quirk of his lips and he shakes his head. ]

No. It's way more complicated than that. We probably would have been able to stop the monster. Look, this wasn't really on purpose.

[she probably shouldn't have gone there, but that's what Chris is implying.]

What, for accidentally pulling up the wrong setting?

[ He's snapping back, but he doesn't want to talk about any of this. Anything to do with Wyatt and Chris's own responsibility is a touchy subject. If anyone could do something to stop him, it's Chris and he's refused. This whole thing is partly his fault and even then he's going to such lengths to circumvent rather than just deal with it. ]
