Waystation Mingle Log!
Who: GAME-WIDE MINGLE aka everyone
Broadcast: If you want
Action: The Stations!
When: From 04/05 through the month of April.
[Well, that all sure happened. But at least you have the waystations! Whether you want to stock up on supplies, work, trade, or visit the very fancy Virtual Reality Dome, it's bound to be a nice break from the attacks of the 5th.
Make your own prompts, set up your own Virtual Realities, etc! For reference, the OOC post with info is over here!]

What a beautiful city.

[he wasn't expecting you]
Hey, Allen. [let's just gesture out to the city]
Welcome to San Fransokyo.
no subject
Ah- sorry. Was this supposed to be private? I didn't know you were in here- I just...[got lost] was exploring.
no subject
[he's turning back to the skyline, though.]
It's pretty cool, right?
no subject
Yeah, it is! I haven't seen many cities like it.

[he's pointing]

The hot air balloons? [At least he thinks that's what they are...]
no subject
[let him just input the command and BOOM, THEY'RE ON TOP OF ONE, AND IT IS SUNSET.]
no subject
Ah!
[He jumps a little in surprise. You'd really think a guy who was able to make portals everywhere would be less jumpy about suddenly popping up places- but naaaah.]
Can this support our weight?! [Nevermind they are both twigs in terms of weight]
no subject
They're turbines, dude. Power generators. They can handle our weight.
no subject
[Right. Okay. He takes a breath in, relaxing. It was just a projection anyway right? Not actually real.]
[He'll notice the sunset now as his nerves calm down, and he can't help but stare at it in awe. It's absolutely beautiful, and even with the strange cityscape (which was a sight in of itself) on the horizon, absolutely familiar. How long has it been since he's seen an Earth sunset? Paradisa had beautiful sunsets, that's much was for certain, but it was never quite the same. The colors were always a little off, the appearing stars were wrong, the moon was wrong, and the weather rarely varied - so they always looked the same, evening after evening. But this evening sky in front of him....]
[Funny. It was always the unexpected thing that make you feel the tug of homesickness]
...The sky's still the same...
no subject
[He doesn't get it, Allen. No one ever told him you were from a version of Earth.]
no subject
- Ah. Sorry. It's just- I'm from Earth? 1898, specifically.
So much changes in the future from what I hear and it's been so long since I've been home, I guess...I didn't expect to see something still familiar.
no subject
[totally earth]
... Oh. I had no idea you were from Earth--er, at least some version of it.
[he looks kind of... happy about that though.]
no subject
I know, white hair's not very common for young people on Earth. I used to be a redhead, before I got my powers.
...Though, not as red as some people in the fleet.

[He shifts a little before sitting down next to Hiro, wringing his hands and looking out to the sunset]
But...yes. I got it on the very same night.
no subject
Oh.
... Sorry. I didn't mean to, uh... bring up something painful.
no subject
It's alright. It was a long time ago. Though it's a story probably better not told on a beautiful day like this.
[Especially with Hiro. From what he knows about his relationship with Tadashi, that's definitely a story that Hiro might take a bit more personally than most people when they hear it- so it was one he'd rather tell more carefully. So, he tries to move along the topic by talking a bit more cheerful.]
Besides, it's not like I don't like my powers. There's plenty of- [What's that term again?] -cool things I can do with them!
no subject
Yeah? Like what? I've never seen you use them before.
no subject
[He reaches into his coat pocket and searches around until he pulls out a pack of regular playing cards. He shows it to Hiro to show that there's nothing weird about it- then he turns and throws the deck of cards into the air and off the side of the balloon.]
[But before the cards have a chance to fall out of view? He holds out his left arm and a white ribbon shoots out in the same direction as the cards. It grabs onto the falling deck of cards midair and reels it back into Allen's hand, who looks back at Hiro.]
Tah-dah!
