[It's a scowling teenager on your screen, sitting crosslegged on a cot.]

Hey. So. It sounds like I've been kidnapped to participate in some crazy holo-show with a bunch of other people who've been kidnapped. I guess that's not evil, but it's still really annoying.

I'd make a stink about getting out of here once I find out where those jerks hid my lightsaber, but I've got a feeling that's not going to help much. So... hi. I'm Vima Sunrider. Are there any other Jedi around here?

[Vima is exploring before and after she makes that transmission... checking out the weird exercise equipment, looking at the big transmission screens, poking her head into the cafeteria, and mostly looking for other people.

You've been in a spaceship before?!

Um... this space is definitely unknown for me! We benders, we can control the elements! It's what we do.

Well, sure--wait, this is your first time in space? [Man, he must be from a primitive world. Or way out in the space boonies.]

The elements? You mean like minerals and gases and stuff? Wow!

[yes Vima that is totally what he means]

Yep! It's a lot more... spacey than I imagined!

[And he continues to nod along. Minerals... they're part of earth, right? And gases are just air... so it makes sense.]

That's right, all of those! It can be pretty neat!

Hah! Yeah, I think I was pretty goggle-eyed the first time I went on a spaceship... [well, the first time she really remembers the spaceship part. the actual first time her dad got killed.] It looks like a whole lot of nothing sometimes, but it's got endless possibility too.

How do you do that? Do you use the Force, or--well, energy, that kind of thing? [If he doesn't know Jedi, he might not know "the Force".]

Hmm... Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm pretty sure my eyes felt super goggly! [He smiles a little warmly.] I like that part about endless possibility. It sounds really really nice.

[He shakes his head.]

Um... I use the energy within me! Don't worry, I don't have to use force. It really comes naturally to me most of the time! [He only knows "force".]

I like thinking of it that way. So many planets and people you're going to see, right?

Oh, not that kind of--I mean, "the Force" is what we call that kind of energy, where I'm from. I had no idea it could be used for that, but then again it can do just about anything.

You're right. I love planets! And I love meeting new people, too. [The last planet they went to was kind of scary though... but still!]

Oh, really? That's neat! I guess that's kind of like chakras. Can you use the Force?

So we don't have to stay on this big ship forever, huh? That's good. I hate being cooped up too long.

You bet! I'm training to be a Jedi Knight. They use the Force to help people across the Galaxy.

Yep! They're gonna shuffle you on another ship, and we can stop places in these ships! But we can't go too far from where they want us to o...

Helping people all across the galaxy?! That's incredible! You must be really really really great!!

Yeah? What happens when you try to go out of bounds?

Well, I'm still a student, honestly... but the Jedi are pretty great. That's why I'm really eager to learn more.

Um... I think they stop us. And we only have so much fuel...

Really? Well I bet you're still really great! If there's any way I could help you with your learning, I'd be glad to!

Fuel's not a surprise. Do you know if they do anything to us when they stop us, though?

Sure! I'd love to see this Bending of yours--it sounds like a whole different way to use the Force than I've ever heard of.

Iiii don't really now. I never tried, and I haven't been here for long.

Where exactly are you? Are you on this ship, or one of the little ones?

One of the little ones! My current one's called the Caprine, but I think I'm gonna get switched to the Blue Fish soon!

Okay. [So you can get transferred... but he seems pretty upbeat about it, so probably not something to worry about.] Can you show me over the comm, then?

Sure thing, I'll show you one of my favorite airbending tricks. Watch carefully!

[He reaches into his robes for a second and holds something balled in his fist. He puts his hands together, for a moment... then he abruptly pulls his hands apart and...!]

[There's a set of marbles spinning between his hands!]

[Vima lets out a laugh.]

Wow, that's a neat trick! I'd better get practicing--I don't know that I could make them go so fast and keep control.

[Airbending, huh? Is that what they just call the telekinetic stuff?]

[Aang laughs.]

I'm glad you like it! I'm sure if you believe in yourself, you can do something like that too!

And, check this out! [Pocketing the marbles, he then forms a spiral of wind between his hands, places it down and then balances atop the ball of air.]

[Whoa. Now Vima is seriously impressed.

...Perhaps getting a little sense that this isn't 100% the same thing, but it's not overriding the "impressed" bit yet.]

Wow, it looks like you're controlling the air molecules themselves! And you look like you're even younger than I am--you must have a great Master.

[She's searching around for stuff to try spinning around with the Force as she says that.]

Thanks, I'm trying my best! [Then he gets more nostalgic.] I did have the best master I could hope for. Monk Gyatso....

[She's found a writing utensil to try spinning when she catches the nostalgic note in Aang's voice... and the past tense. It's something she finds familiar.]

Yeah? [Her smile softens.] Bet he taught you about more than just bending.

That's right. He taught me about being a monk and being a person, and... and being a kid.

[She nods in understanding. She didn't need training in how to be a kid so much herself, but the rest, that lines up.]

There's no much point in knowing the tricks and techniques if you don't understand those things.
