Hey. So. It sounds like I've been kidnapped to participate in some crazy holo-show with a bunch of other people who've been kidnapped. I guess that's not evil, but it's still really annoying.

I'd make a stink about getting out of here once I find out where those jerks hid my lightsaber, but I've got a feeling that's not going to help much. So... hi. I'm Vima Sunrider. Are there any other Jedi around here?

[Vima is exploring before and after she makes that transmission... checking out the weird exercise equipment, looking at the big transmission screens, poking her head into the cafeteria, and mostly looking for other people.

You might also find her staring out of the bay windows, wondering just where in the Galaxy she is.]

We're not sure, exactly. None of us have ever seen them, or even heard their voice. I have my suspicions, of course, but no real proof that my speculations are correct.

I wouldn't mind hearing them anyway. Speculation's better than nothing.

Well, in my universe, there are some non-corporeal species who exist outside the normal space-time continuum and as a result, can manipulate time and space in ways that we can't. I wouldn't be surprised if Atroma is a member of one of these species, or a species that is similar.

so she basically thinks Atroma is a Q?

Oh. Yeah, I guess that would make sense. I mean, manipulating time still doesn't make sense, but it would explain how it got us all here in a flash.

Why the heck would something that powerful waste time on a holoshow, though?

You'd be amazed at the seemingly petty things they are fascinated by.

I probably would, judging from what I've seen already. [She shakes her head at her surroundings.] What kind of petty things? Besides holoshows.

For all their power and supposed knowledge, they are remarkably clueless... about how eating works for example. Or sleeping. Or -

... kissing.

[Nice save. Definitely were about to say "sex" there, weren't you Bev?]

[SHE'S PRETTY SURE YOU WERE ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING ELSE TOO BEV but she's not interested in pursuing that.]

Seriously? [...] I guess I'd be pretty curious about what it's like. But putting together entertainment programs would be really far down on my list.

Mine too. Maybe things are just more boring them for them than we realize.

Could be things get a little 'samey' when you're omnipotent. Does this Atroma ever talk to us directly?

[Then she might be able to figure out more with the Force.]

Not directly. There's a woman - or at least, I presume she's a woman from her voice - named Diamond who gives us updates and is basically the host of the show.

Hm... does she ever come onto this ship itself, that you know? [Probably not, right?]

On the Marsiva?

[Beverly places a finger to her lips thoughtfully.]

You know, I have no idea, but that's a good question. While we're on the Marsiva, we're confined to one deck so none of us have any idea what or who else is on board. It's a large ship, surely there is a crew of some sort.

Well, even from one deck, I could probably figure out if something as powerful as Atroma is here. [If she's on the Marsiva at the time... well, maybe even if she's in the fleet, if it's as powerful as Dr. Crusher says.] Is Diamond a normal being? Like a Human.

[dancingmd]

We don't know... we've only ever heard her voice.

[She tilts her head curiously.]

Are you an empath or a telepath then?

[tobeajedi]

[Vima rubs the back of her neck.]

I guess you can call it that? A Jedi is someone who can use the Force, and one of the ways it guides us is being able to sense life. Something as powerful as Atroma ought to be like a beacon.

But you can use it to figure out people too. Mind-reading isn't a common skill, but perceptions and emotions aren't that hard.

[For her, anyway.]

You call it a skill... so it's something you've learned? Not an innate sense you were born with?

[tobeajedi]

No, you're born with the Force. But you still have to learn how to use it. How best to use it, too.

[dancingmd]

[Beverly nods. That makes sense to her. Or at least, as much sense as the Force is going to to anyone not from Vima's universe.]

I know some people like that... I mean, we don't call it the Force, but they're born with certain senses or mental abilities like telepathy or telekinesis and it sometimes takes a while for them to learn to hone those abilities so that they aren't overwhelmed by them.

[She pauses for a moment, thinking]

I would be interested to see if you'll be able to sense anyone on the Marsiva. They might have some sort of mental block against that sort of thing though, or maybe the ship is automated. In any case, it's worth trying to find out.

[Being overwhelmed? That's not the issue Force-users tend to have... learning how to use it judiciously, without slipping into dark habits. But it sounds comparable, at least, because you also have to learn basic technique.]

Yeah, they might. It can be hard, sometimes, for Jedi to perceive darkness... my mother's good at it. Something like Atroma probably can put up a pretty strong shield, but I'll still try.
