[Alex is hanging out in the galley, her socked feet propped up on the table and a glass of soda in one hand, when she switches on the video feed. Her little boom box is sitting next to her, quietly playing another traditional Earth hymn to the god Bill Murray. Enjoy that, floots.]

So. Last night as a teenager.

[She takes a sip of soda, and pauses for a second, wondering if she's about to burp.

False alarm.] What kind of reckless, immature shenanigans should I get up to before the big 2-0 gets here?

[She turns up R. Kelly, and starts singing along as she waits for a reply. What a jammin' birthday.]

[Adachi just chuckles nervously.]

Well, for what it's worth, I'm sorry you have to celebrate your birthday in such a crap location.

Your concern is touching. If you had, like, chips or booze or something, that would be even more touching.

[At first, Adachi is a little startled by Alex's frankness about wanting alcohol, but then a grin returns to his face. It was her birthday after all, why shouldn't she feel free to celebrate how she chooses?]

I don't think I have any booze myself... but I may know a guy who probably has some stashed away.

If his name rhymes with "Browley", then we've already talked.

[She's already met Crowley? Poor girl...]

Ah! So you know Crowley then? Did he offer to share?

Yeah. He gave me a whole bottle of [questionable] wine.

Wow! That was rather nice of him.

[Adachi did not know what was more surprising... that Crowley had a full bottle of wine he hadn't touched, or that he was willing to give it to someone. He was supposed to be a demon after all. This all seemed a little too kind considering.]

Yeah, he's kind of like a vaguely evil drunk uncle. I like him.

[What follows was probably one of the most genuine, benevolent laughs of Adachi's life. "An evil drunk uncle" that was too good. He'd have to remember that one.]

I think he'd probably take that as a compliment.
