[Nightingale's awakening is much lower-key than most, sitting up in the bed and realizing quickly that she is not where she should be. The best way to cope, of course, is looking around, taking in her surroundings, and just talking to herself.]

Okay... So, this must be a game. Don't think I recognize any space Echoes, though... Whatever, I should figure out the win conditions, first. And hope it's not another 'everyone dies' game.

[she lifts a hand, and a strong wind whips through the area, throwing bedsheets and pillows around.]

Okay, magic's still on, that's... usually a good sign.

[She doesn't seem to have noticed the mess she made. Or maybe she doesn't care. Either way.]

[Having immediately fallen into the assumption that this is a game, Nightingale isn't too bothered by the idea of being able to operate technology she hasn't seen before- it's not like it's the first time, after all. She takes a deep breath, and starts talking to the camera. Noticeably, she still hasn't cleaned up her prior mess.]

This is Nightingale, from Takshaka. I don't know what's going on, but this game seems a bit different. Can you check in with which teams are here? And Roc, Gull, Hawk, Magpie, Togetic, Sparrow, any of you around?

And which Echo is this, while I'm at it? I don't recognize any with a space theme going on unless it's the damn Bone Witch again. If I see that dress or that whale again, I'm going to find a way to leave in the middle.

[Oh hey, somepony else at last. It's been a few months since Cheese last saw a human-shaped-thing, but he's pretty sure he still has the hang of basic etiquette. He casually jumps over a wayward, windblown pillow, before ambling over. ]

I'm pretty sure it's not a game. Or, it's not a good game. You can't win like in pin the tail on the pony or pass the parcel. This is more a 'surprise, you've been kidnapped from your home and you can't get back on your own' sort of game. Nopony wins in that game.

[It takes her a moment of blank staring to process what she's seeing.]

A... talking horse. Okay. Sure, not the weirdest thing I've seen. Are you the Echo here?

[Cheese, of course, is used to this sort of reaction, he's come to expect it. ]

So long as I'm not the weirdest thing. Aaand no, I'm not the echo, or even an echo. [To himself. ] Echoechoecho. You find those in caves.

The name's Cheese Sandwich. [He gestures to the rubber chicken on his back.] This is Boneless 2. We're new here, too.

[Ah, it's the kind of conversation where she can feel her tenuous grasp on logic and sanity slipping.]

... "Cheese Sandwich". I hate to admit it, but that's still not the dumbest name I've heard, either. Which team are you, then?

This is not a Takshaka you were expecting. And she certainly didn't expect to see anyone.

[Nightingale wasn't exactly expecting to see Lark of all people here, either.]

Lark? What- When did you get back? Shouldn't you be with Cecilia still?

[ Welp. She squirms in her eat on the makeshift window seat and tries to think of what to say. This is the second person she didn't expect here in a month. ]

No. I've been here for a month? A little over now... No one else from Tashaka is here. And its no where near the castle, I think.

... A month? That doesn't- I just visited Bluebird a couple days ago, I think. What do you mean?

I mean... We'not in Kyriakos. You're on a ship called the Marsiva. And I'm one called the Huntress. And no one else is here. It's just us and everyone else on these ships.

... Start from the beginning. This is just a game, isn't it?

Well, we're on a tv show. But if it's a game it's the longest one ever and not very game-like.

It wouldn't be the first time a game like that's been run...

Has there ever been a game we all showed up to?

Sometimes. But I mean there's no one else here, even other teams. And people show up all the time. It's not the same place. I would know.

[the more she hears, the less she likes this.]

Lark... You said you're on a different ship? I'll come find you.

You can't. You're stuck on that ship for a few more days... And we can't get on that one, either.

[experiencepoints]

You said we're not dealing with Echoes, right?

[ofbelief]

No, but people are fighting bugs right now. And someone relays a message every week when new people go to their ships... Those are the only people not us on the ships I've seen.

[experiencepoints]

You've seen my memories. Do you really think people can keep me away from where I want to be?

[bugs go without comment because monster encounters are totally normal]

[ofbelief]

I have. You're really strong and powerful, but... I don't think they'll let you leave that ship until you're supposed to. Everyone else gets stuck there, too.

[and some of them are teleporting demons, not that she knows that about her shipmates]

[Her response takes her a moment of consideration- as much as she'd like to give a hotheaded response about fighting her way over, that's not the best choice right now. Instead...]

... When am I 'supposed to'? I'll find you as soon as I get out of here.

...Saturday. Which is four days from now.

[ Which suddenly feels like a really long time, but as far as she knows no one's managed to get off before then. ] That's when you'll get your new ship, the one you'll stay on unless you decide to transfer. So they're nothing like teams... it seems similar, but nothing's the same here.

[experiencepoints]

"The Huntress" is where you are, right? I'll get there soon as I can.

... Four days, though...

[All Nightingale can think about is how long each day at the castle felt. Four days before even the slightest chance of seeing the one person she knows here? That's going to be awful.]

Well... Whatever. I'm just glad you were here instead of the castle...

Yeah, there's sixteen ships or so I think. You'll definitely end up one of the others, though.

It'll be a while...

[ It feels weird that seeing Nightingale is just as important as seeing her dad, but far less scary. It really does almost feel like one giant game by an Echo with her here, now. ]

It's... nice here. There's not much to do right now unless you go on the bug ship. And even being on television they don't really make us do anything.
