[ target cannot be resurrected. ]
Who: Belthazar and whoever
Broadcast: Yes, the first part.
Action: The bug ship, and the Bishop when he returns.
When: RIGHT NOW.
[Technically he shouldn't be on the ship, but he isn't going too far. By the door he's set up a little shrine of white candles. He kneels down and lights them with a simple gesture. Belthazar's sleeves still have some rips and tears in them from fighting the bugs, but at least they're clean.
A moment of rustling, and he leaves a small offering of white flowers symbolizing sympathy and grief. Thanks, Ino.]
Elor bindel felallan morin'aminor.
[He isn't sure what else to say.]
I am... sorry.
[SS Bishop;]
[Anyone seeking out the tiny elfling later will find him freshly-showered and seated in the kitchen. He's made something a little more traditional this time-- breaded chicken, dairy-free gravy, and mashed potatoes. There's plenty for the crew. In the meantime, he's eating and reading at the same time.
Looks to be some kind of trashy fantasy novel. A Melody of Frost and Flame? Belthazar, you can do better.]

Those were beautiful words. May I ask, what language was it?

Thalassian, [he murmurs. He gets up, dusts off his robes.] It's a prayer for the dead to sleep peacefully.

[As Wanda studies the shrine, she can't help but feel some guilt over the number of aliens she herself had killed upon her initial arrival. It could have been argued that it was self-defense... but that didn't completely ease away the feeling of bitter responsibility for taking the lives of what were likely once peaceful creatures. It's likely that shades of her inner thoughts can be detected on her face, as she continues to study the candles and flowers for another moment. When she speaks, her tone is level, but slightly hushed.]
Could you... teach it to me?
no subject
Y... yes, if you want to.
[A pause.]
It might be easier if I transcribed it into Common so you could go over the words individually. Hold on. [He reaches inside his robes for his journal and pen. He turns it to a blank page, and quickly writes it down.]

SORRY ABOUT THAT... stupid fuckin hover menu
E-lor... bin-del... fel-al-lan... mo-rin-am-i-nor.
[The pronunciation is definitely closer to Latin vowels though.]
Sleep forever in quiet serenity. Roughly.
No worries!
Ea-lore... bind-el... fela-lan... mor-in-amin-or?
[Her eastern European accent clearly on display as she attempts to pronounce the words herself.]
no subject
Ay-lor been-del. Ilor means something else.
I suppose the accent is something that you can unlearn later.
no subject
I shall have to practice some more.
[She turns to look back at the small shrine.]
May I ask... was this your idea?
no subject
[He's surprised by her question. He's the type to maybe brush it off, pretend he didn't, but the way his ears flatten against his hair gives him away immediately.]
Ah... yes. It's paltry in comparison to the shrines I have seen, but this is all I could bring.
no subject
It is beautiful.

I... wanted to save them. Everyone wanted to save them, but we cannot. All we can do is try to keep it from happening again.

Though we did not get to know what these creatures were like before all this madness, I am sure that they would have appreciated this gesture.
