[ ok so the beginning of (actually, the entirety of) the feed is probably going to be the most confusing thing ever: all it consists of is the device being repeatedly flipped over in any and every possible direction. while its focus continues to be butchered, you could probably see flashes of brown and red before it finally settles on the image of a wide-eyed teenager with spiky hair.

never mind that the image is upside down. ]

Huh. It looks kinda like those computers the Desians had. How'd they make it so small?

[ he continues to fiddle with it, trying to figure out how it works - he even cuts the feed off and on at some point - before his excitement and childlike wonder dies down and he gives up on it, opting to look out the window of the Marsiva. the only issue with that is he forgot to turn off the feed, and he opted to stay quiet for a bit. ]

I never thought I'd be back up here like this. It doesn't feel like it did back on Welgaia, either-- seeing all the stars this close is actually pretty awesome now! [ yeah that childlike wonder just came back. he pauses for a bit before letting out a sigh. ]

Man, if only the others could see this... I wonder if--

( He'll find he's not the only one who enjoys looking out at that sea of stars and... also blackness. There is much of the black inbetween all the points of light out here. Ella's been accounting for all the details she seems to understand that definitely aren't in her usual sphere of influence, and the network -- at least with her talking on it -- has been a secondhand priority.

Though she tries not to startle him when she clears her throat [delicately, unfortunately] over to his left. )

The communicator? There's a button -- ( of all things, being called a button ) -- for turning it off completely. It's part of the... menu?

( She knows these are the words, but they really don't sound like they should be the words. )

[ thankfully her approach was effective in not startling him, though part of it could be attributed to his enhanced hearing-- he turns just as she clears her throat. while he wasn't startled by her approach, though, he was surprised at the explanation she offered. ]

This thing's a communicator? [ he's honestly surprised. the only communicator he used was a big, clunky one that was like the size of a suitcase. ]

I didn't know they could be this small!

I didn't even know they could exist before - very recently.

( There's a split second of hesitation while her mind balances the new knowledge she has against the experience she has in her previous, what, sixteen years of life. )

We still use pen and paper for most communication back home.

I only know what communicators are because a comrade found one from ancient technology. It was way bigger than this thing, though!

[she's on the Marsiva too! she did a hardcore investigation a little while ago, but upon not finding anything... she's kind of just taken to... sleeping and watching the network and wandering in useless circles...

it's at the end of one of these circles when she gets back to the main area and--]

Oh, there's a person here. [she can't raise her voice above a whisper, so she shuffles closer and awkwardly... raises her hand in a wave...] Hello, person.

[ he hears the footsteps behind him, but he pays no mind to it, simply brushing it off as some passerby. it's only when he hears them actually approach him that Lloyd turns, finding a woman not that far off from him.

this is probably one of the few times where he's thankful for his angelic hearing: he has no idea why she's opting to whisper, but at least he can hear her just fine. ]

Hey! [ he lifts his hand in response, turning away from the window as she approaches. ] You just got here too?

Yeah, just a little while ago. I guess all the, uh, new people get put here before they're shoved onto the rest of the ships.

[man, this guy looks like he's from some kind of a... steampunk... anime convention or something. she wonders if he's actually from a world where everyone dresses like that...]

[ likewise, he's thinking that her clothes are kind of weird. plain-looking, actually: like they're Tethe'allan, but without a lot of the adornments you'd see on them. ]

Looks like it! Hey, what d'you think the other ships are like? You think they'll be anything like this one? [ can you see the invisible puppy dog tail wagging behind him ]

[He had watched the feed at first, trying to figure out what was going on when it kept being flipped over, and it was out of focus- even going so far to lean closer to his own screen to try to make heads or tails of it]

[When it comes into focus- he freezes in his spot. There is absolutely no way he'd forget that face. They brought him here? Of all people? ]

[Before Lloyd even finishes the video, Zelos's flight or flee instinct kick in. He cuts his own connection to the network, turns off his device and shoves it away for good measure.]

[He'll figure out something later, he knows he has to. But for now? He tries what he always does - he runs.]
