[When the video comes on, Clay's looking at it with a big, excited grin on his face that seems to only increase in wattage once he realizes it's on. He sits back on his heels then, arms wrapped around his knees, though they probably won't stay like that for long.]

I haven't been here very long, but I've still met so many people with such cool powers! [And, indeed, he begins to gesture and lean forward as he describes each power.] Super strength, fighting with magic cards, reality bending, and flight! I never even knew those kinds of things were possible outside of comic books and tv shows!

[He rocks back again, arms winding around his knees once more as he seems to calm just a bit.]

So tell me about your powers. What are they like? Is it natural to you, or do you... I don't know, have to call on something in order to make it happen? And for you people who don't have powers, like me, what kind do you wish you had? [And the thought of it just makes him move once more, arms out and gesturing.] If I could have powers, I'd have flight, the ability to breathe anywhere I wanted, and super durability. Or maybe - maybe adaptability? That way I could go into space any time I wanted without getting into a heavy suit!

[... Aaand calm again.] So, yeah. Powers? I really want to know. It's of astronomical importance.

I don't think it has anything to do with your job, if I remember right -- it's just basic stuff. Like extra "charm", some kind of fire power ... you know, things like that.

Well, I'd be "charmed" to know more about it! [He settles in a little, as if he's about to listen to a story.] How do I get it? If it's already obvious, then I apologize in advance, miss...?

That's all I know. The money goes to Atroma, and you couldn't pay me to let them fiddle around in my brain again, so I never looked into it more.

Ugh, I shouldn't be surprised. They already messed with our heads enough already! I'll probably pass if it means getting poked in the brain too much.

[He gives a two-fingered salute at that, a smile coming up again.] Ino! Nice to meet you. I'm Clay - yeah, like the pottery clay.

I once knew a guy named Guts, so -- not the weirdest name I've ever heard. Nice to meet you.

[ Salutes ... back? Is that how this works??? ]

[He chuckles, because that was kind of adorable??? But also because.]

Guts, really?

Well, he was very brave. I guess it worked.

Bravery sure wasn't the first thing I thought of, but if it worked for him, then good! He got lucky in the naming department. [WISTFUL SIGH.] I'm pretty much the opposite of mine.

How exactly is someone the opposite of "clay"?

Well, my dream for pretty much all my life was to get away from Earth. I wanted to be an astronaut, and I did whatever I could to reach that goal! Everyone always told me my head was up in the clouds, but really? It was up in space!

Aha ... no wonder you're excited about all of this, then. You're living the dream. Well, sort of.

[And a double-point at the screen - ]

Exactly!

[- Before he lets his hands fall slightly, eyes glancing upward as if he just thought of something.]

I mean, yeah, it is kind of cheating. I should've boarded a rocket and launched into space that way... and actually kept in contact with everyone back on Earth...

[And there's the double-point again.] But! Exactly!

Well, it's not like you left that part out on purpose.

Man, if my best friend were here, he'd totally pick that apart and tell me it doesn't count if it's cheating. [Not in a negative way, though, and his voice reflects it. Apollo would be ecstatic that Clay made it, even if it wasn't by the method he'd originally planned. But that doesn't mean he'd let Clay get away with absolutely no teasing, and god, he can just imagine the smug grin on his face.]

[ she laughs; although it's clear to her that clay is fond of this other person, but she can't help but make a comment anyways ]

I hope that would come after the congratulations.

Psh, yeah! I'd kick his butt if it came before. [Gently. Because Apollo's a weenie.]

Well, as long as the both of you are on the same page.

The only way to know for sure is if he came here himself, which, uh...

[He trails off a bit, his cheery tone fading as he does so. But then he brings it back up when he speaks again,]

Anyway! So do you have any super powers I don't know about? Don't hold out on me now!

[ Aw, she sees that. ]

You never know. He might show up one of these days.

[ But she'll look amused at the question, putting her chin in her palm ]

I'm a healer.

[He's not even sure if Apollo would want to be here; Clay's the space nerd, not him, and he has his own dreams to keep fulfilling back on Earth. But - well, thinking too hard about it makes him just ache, so he'll just focus on this now.]

A healer? [He hasn't heard this one yet and OH GOSH.] Like - Like with magic, or something else? [LEANING IN. Please tell him he wants to know so bad]

I use an energy in the body called "chakra". It's not magic, it's something that -- theoretically -- anybody can learn.

[One could practically see the gears whirring in his head.]

So... I could learn it?

[ She looks amused. Yes, he's right -- but she barely knows the guy, and she's already got probably too many students. Still, she'll be friendly about it: ]

Maybe. If you found a teacher.

Typically it's not something that's taught outside of a certain group of people, though.

[omggg he could LEARN THIS. Like, it's not even about super powers at this point, but learning to help someone when they're in need? That, that's what he'd love to have.

And yes, that's basically a sort of rejection, but his eyes are still bright as he leans in slightly towards the camera.]

Well. I would be very humbled to know how I can join this teacher's certain group of people, if they want to tell me about it sometime.

[ She laughs. Persistent, isn't he ...
