[When the video comes on, Clay's looking at it with a big, excited grin on his face that seems to only increase in wattage once he realizes it's on. He sits back on his heels then, arms wrapped around his knees, though they probably won't stay like that for long.]

I haven't been here very long, but I've still met so many people with such cool powers! [And, indeed, he begins to gesture and lean forward as he describes each power.] Super strength, fighting with magic cards, reality bending, and flight! I never even knew those kinds of things were possible outside of comic books and tv shows!

[He rocks back again, arms winding around his knees once more as he seems to calm just a bit.]

So tell me about your powers. What are they like? Is it natural to you, or do you... I don't know, have to call on something in order to make it happen? And for you people who don't have powers, like me, what kind do you wish you had? [And the thought of it just makes him move once more, arms out and gesturing.] If I could have powers, I'd have flight, the ability to breathe anywhere I wanted, and super durability. Or maybe - maybe adaptability? That way I could go into space any time I wanted without getting into a heavy suit!

[... Aaand calm again.] So, yeah. Powers? I really want to know. It's of astronomical importance.

You are a plant! [And he sounds amazed by it, because - He's a plant! That's AWESOME!] Do you get breakfast from the light of the sun, or some other type of food?

I need food like humans need food! But if I don't have sunlight, I get wilt-y feeling. Not like a big bad wilt, like someone cut into a branch and now that whole area is drying up, but.. like the plant wasn't watered, and it was hot yesterday, and now it looks sad.

... But I like being awake when the sun is up anyway.

Oh, man, that sounds like torture. I've seen plenty of plants looking that way [... mostly his own], and I can't imagine how that feels. Maybe like a human going without water for a while? Only you feel it all over.

So what do you do with the sun so far away? Do other stars count, too? Maybe other yellow dwarfs...

... Maybe? I only know a little about how humans work, and it is mostly from this place, because I am.. lab personnel? [ Surprise surprise no one on his ship really goes in here for him, they usually want the medicine kit. ]

I have sun lamps! I am growing plants here, for medicine, and for clothing, and for eating, and they need sun lamps, so I just stay in the medical bay, and I get my sunlight while they get their sunlight!

Of course, sun lamps! If you can't find the light of the sun yourself, then find another source!

So that's been working out all right for you? I mean, I imagine it's not just like the sun, but is it close enough?

[ Asteffiel just nods happily. ]

I don't feel any difference! I think. I haven't tried going without sunlight before.

Yeeeeah, you probably shouldn't try, either, even for science. If I know anything about plants, it's that they need their sunlight.

[His problem with his own plants was mostly just that he was so busy that he didn't really have time to take care of them. So he'd go home and... well... those poor plants.]

I know another Sylvari did a little? Like, she had to hide with her friends during the day, and travel at night, and I know how that made her feel.
