But I made a mess. It's my responsibility.

[He's still somewhat flustered, so he works on placing the fallen books in a neat pile.]

I am fine. Honestly, the concussion was months ago.

The effects can last a while, and you don't want to get another one.

[he's helping him out, regardless. it might be his fault, but it was still an accident.]

I thought you would say something about my skull being incredibly thick.

[He hesitates when he and Hiro both reach for the same book.]

Though I think yours is thicker, [he murmurs, and there's a trace of fondness.]

... Probably why I didn't get the concussion, you fragile little flower.

[he takes the book, nudging him and putting it in his own stack.]

[Belth snorts indignantly and grabs a different one.]

That was only the third time!

Only, he says.

[hiro shakes his head, and steals the book right out of belthazar's hand.]

Worse risks have been taken for the sake of--

[Belth stares. He stole his book! This means... being totally immature, and trying to snatch it back.]

[hiro sits upright and holds it high up above his head.

[try harder!]

[HE CAN'T REACH WHAT THE FUCK. It's not even like Hiro is that much taller! CURSE THIS ELVEN ANCESTRY.]

[Overextending himself only succeeds in nearly tipping over again, and so the reaching continues.]

[there's a mutter of a curse when belth nearly tips over, and hiro's other hand is raised to steady him.]

Why? It's not yours!

I was-- I was organizing it!

[Fine. You wanna play hardball? We'll play hardball, he decides.

By clambering right up into Hiro's lap.

Surprisingly, he is quite light. He still doesn't eat as much as he should.]

[nope! hiro whips it around behind his back.]

Too slow.

[Was this all a ploy to get a hug? Because that is... almost... what's happening. Almost. But really it's more like Belth flailing his arms around Hiro trying to catch the book. It's pretty funny, honestly.]

[it is, and that's why hiro's laughing so hard. if anyone caught them right now there would probably be words.

[either way, he's not letting him take the book.]

[Yyyyyeah this looks awful. Belthazar shoves his face in Hiro's shoulder and windmills his arms, but nothing works.

However, he's not done yet. He has very small and deft hands and they are great for tickling. Giving up all sense of personal space, he goes right for Hiro's ribs.]
