[ Allen meanwhile has no idea he's projecting such weird feelings for all these people with sensing capability. He's just working in the clinic, trying to get caught up on paperwork as this was as good a time as any. But when someone he doesn't recognize wanders in, he'll look up - and go quickly to the assumption that it's someone visiting for medical reason. ]

Hey there! No, I'm doing fine. [She looks around the clinic with interest for a moment before focusing on Allen. He's practically glowing in her senses.] I just thought I'd poke my head in, get to know some people on this ship better.

[She hasn't talked to Allen over the network, but new people are still included in that.]

Have you always been a medic, or did they implant that into you?

[Having met a whole bunch of people who've never been off their own planet before, Vima is really curious about who and what they all were before getting nabbed for this pleasure jaunt.]

Not always, but I was a medical student for a few years before I came here.

[He gives a nod to the devices in the clinic]

The implant just helps me figure out how to use the lab equipment here compared to what I'm used to.

Oh... so maybe you're from somewhere that hasn't discovered space travel yet? [Not that she would know how to use medlab equipment herself, but if he was already in the field... Also she has met far more people who haven't been to space than have, and it still feels extremely weird.] I guess they stick us with a skill that we've already got some affinity for.

If you're lucky, they do. I've heard of some people who knew absolutely nothing about the augment they were given. [Poor guys] What augment did you get?

[Vima shakes her head.] I thought that was weird at first, but so many people have said they've never been in space before I think I'm the weird one. [She's not being serious, though, and grins.] I'm a pilot! ...I wasn't really a pilot, but it always looked fun. But I bet they get a kick out of giving people a skill they'd hate.
