[All things told, Caesar does not spend a lot of time on introspection when he arrives on the Marsiva. He takes a few moments to look at the stars - astonishingly bright and close, almost frighteningly so, when you're used to cities, or being too busy to look up and see the space that God made - and then looks away. For fear of being overwhelmed, maybe, or because he has other things to do.]

[Though he can't begin to imagine what they are. What do you do after you've died?]

[When he figures out how to access the network, he doesn't hesitate at all. Hesitating means thinking, and if he thinks too much about this his voice will come out weak, lost, confused. He is a Zeppeli; that would be unforgivable.]

[So it comes out strong, full, his syllables well-rounded and imbued with good humor.]

Buongiorno, all, I - seem to have taken a wrong turn somewhere around Mars. I don't suppose anyone has a map?

[He chuckles briefly, then sombers. There's information in his head that he doesn't know the source of, but he can guess.]

There are many people trapped here. I know that much already. I know what is happening. What I don't understand is why.

[Joseph lets Caesar put his arm back over his shoulder.]

Well, if you were a little less of a snob, I might like you better. [Joseph pinches Caesar's cheek roughly.] Us Joestars aren't fooled by nice appearances like everyone else.

[Caesar's eyebrows shoot up. His smirk is so sharp he could probably cut somebody with it.]

[Joseph frowns as Caesar starts to look like the cat that got the cream.]

What's with that look? [Joseph takes his arm back again to cover Caesar's face with his hand and give him a small shove.] I didn't mean anything by it. You put on this image of being such a perfect gentleman, but I know it's bullshit even if everyone else doesn't.

You don't have any more class than I do.

[Laughing, Caesar doesn't bother to dodge - just lets Joseph push him away, then gravitates back and pokes him in the chest.]

You meant something by it. Just because you run your mouth without thinking doesn't mean you can take everything back.

[He admits to nothing. You hear me? Nothing. In a sulky and petulant move, Joseph folds his arms with a huff.]

Believe what you want. I know what I meant and it wasn't whatever you think it was.

If you'd just admit that you said I was handsome, I'd leave you alone.

[No he wouldn't. That's a bullshit lie. He can't even keep a straight face when he says it.]

[Joseph scoffs as if this is the most preposterous thing Caesar could have ever said.]

I've seen dog assholes that were better looking than you, you arrogant prick. And those were mid-pooping.

[He wrinkles his nose, then jabs Joseph in the side again with his elbow.]

That's the most beautiful thing you've ever said to me.

[He gives a soft grunt at the jab. But okay, he can't help it. Joseph ducks his head for a brief second, and smiles some again.]

I know. I should really consider writing poetry.

[There we go. Much better. Caesar, on the other hand, never stopped smiling. He feels a little giddy.]

Tell me abou--... [He stops before his brow furrows in suspicion. He doesn't stop smiling, but.] You're not doing it again, are you?

[Which is completely separate and different from telling Joseph what he wants to hear while also still being a snob. Don't ask how/why, just keep up, Caesar, jeez.]

[This is a touch patronizing, now. He rests his hand on Joseph's shoulder.]

[Yep, that was a real fucking struggle. He sighs and resists throwing back a you like it.]

[It's for the best. Joseph would just deny it anyway and they'd find themselves right back where they began. But still Joseph was expecting...less acceptance...than that... He eyes Caesar suspiciously for a few seconds before he exaggeratedly rolls his eyes.]

If either one of us is being generous by being around the other, I'm pretty sure it's me. [He rests an elbow on Caesar's shoulder, digging in a little to make him stoop unnecessarily.] One of these days, we're gonna find a doctor, and they're gonna figure out a way to get your nose out of the air. Maybe even surgically remove that stick that's up your ass.

[He even makes a show of looking down behind Caesar before looking at his face again.]

[Oof. He bends his knees a little, because Joseph's stupid swole arm is heavy, and makes a face.]

If you spent less time looking at my ass, idiota, you'd probably have a girlfriend by now.

[Which is much more generous than his last assessment. Good job, Joseph, you . . . win? Maybe.]
