Hello, I'd like to ask a question for anyone still awake. Some of you have been here for a little while now, right? I was wondering...has anyone ever been able to contact people they know back home here? Has Atroma ever allowed it, I guess.

My friends back home are probably really worried about me by now...I don't think they would know what's going on. To them I might have suddenly become missing! And I'd like to let them know that I'm okay, if I can. But I don't know if there's a way...

And also, since [ah] maybe I'm going to be here for awhile too. Does anyone have a database about outer space that I could borrow for a bit? A book or a data file you'd be willing to lend? Just, something that gets detailed about how things work in general out there. I have basic knowledge on the subject, but I'd like to learn more of I can.

[Yeah, he'd really, really like an answer to that first part too. There are people back at home that he misses dearly, and he wishes he had some way to keep in touch, at least tell them that he's A-okay.

[ Misha's too much of a night person to not be awake for this. Even if there's no real day/night cycle, there's a sleep-one and she's adjusted to keeping awake during the "quiet" hours. When she sees the question, rather than replying in person she just makes a pit-stop at the kitchen before meandering into Megaman's room. She has a drink and ALFRED is clasped around her bicep as always, ready to settle in for a long haul. ]

We haven't met yet, but my name is Dr. Crusher. I've been here since March and from everything I've gathered, people at home have no idea we're even gone. Several of us have people from our own universes here who have arrived from a period time after our own capture who remember us being at home and living as we normally would, no mention of Atroma. Additionally, my captain, Sokka, recently returned home for three years and retained no memory of being here, but for us, it was only about a week that he was in stasis. I know it is only a small comfort, but in all liklihood your friends will be waiting for you just as you left them.

As to your other question, I normally live in space at home as well, so I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. And I do have a database from home, but unfortunately the files from my device are non transferable to the fleet's computers. I might be able to type something up for you, though.

[It's an impromptu visit--otherwise Megaman might have tried to clean up a bit before Misha's arrival, really! He's not usually a very messy person at all (that being Lan's job, generally). But tonight has been a rather off night on the whole, and Megaman's seated at a desktop that's a disaster of engineer's tools and starchart drafts scattered in haphazard piles, one small space cleared out in the middle for the comm he's currently prodding at halfheartedly. His gloves are off and his helmet's off too, for once, balanced precariously on top of a taller starchart stack--hat hair is not an ailment you experience in the cyber world, for the record, and so he has no idea how to fix up his yet. But that's not important!

No, the important thing is that he sits up immediately when Misha crops up, looking startled but then relaxing once he realizes who it is. Automatically a hand casts out to kind of...slap at a few papers in an attempt towards rendering them slightly less messy (this fails miserably)--but he smiles a bit, as she comes in.]

O-oh, hello Misha! And Alfred, good evening to you too... [Noting the presence on her bicep as well. He blinks a bit, at the question.] Ah, yeah, it's--fine, there's another chair in here somewhere. Um. ...Oh, you saw the post? [Well it is a Fleet-wide broadcast, in retrospect. He has the decency to look sheepish about this realization.]

You normally live in space where you're from, though? That's pretty amazing! We haven't quite reached that level of technology where I'm from yet...at most we've been to the moon a couple of times, so far. A write-up would definitely be alright in the place of any kind of data transfer, though, if you'd be alright with taking questions! There might be a lot of them, I'm sorry in advance about that...

That's correct. I haven't been able to figure exactly how it all works, considering we don't age while we're here either. But I think it's pretty safe to say your friends won't even know that you're gone.

Yeah, I saw it. It's a good idea. We kind of take space for granted where I'm from, leave it to the astronauts and everyone, but considering where we are... You know, we should probably learn more.

So far all my medical scans have shown that we aren't aging, which, I suppose is ultimately a good thing if no time is passing at home. But you're right, it's a mystery that I haven't been able to solve yet. To be honest, time travel has always given me a bit of a headache.

Yes, I'm from Earth as well... or at least, my people were originally. I was actually born on Luna, but I attended Starfleet Academy, which is a university of sorts, on Earth. Granted, I'm sure there are a lot of differences between our two versions of Earth. What year is it for you?

Yeah, I can imagine how it could get really confusing really fast...I've never really had to deal with something like time travel before, but I can already tell it must be quite complicated. I guess it's something we'll just have to keep looking into...

I think there probably are a lot of differences, yes...I don't think I've heard of either of those places. But this is still a start! Let's see, right now it's the year 2010? I don't think it's possible. I mean... I've found someone here from where I was before, but from home isn't going to happen. We've been dragged across worlds- Maybe if your home world had the ability to send messages across worlds or something? But odds are we're all shit out of luck in that regard.

Some talking horse told me that time's probably frozen back where you came from, though.

Ah, Dr. Crusher has just told me that too, though! Although I don't think Dr. Crusher is a talking horse...but apparently time might flow differently between here and home? So at least they're not worrying.

I don't know about that. Rather than 'flowing differently', from what I've heard, it's more like we're just being put back at the same point they picked us up from. So it's not that time is frozen, but rather, that we're just sort of operating outside of that time right now. I don't think the Atroma would be that generous, though. (-_-)ゞ゛ They weren't exactly big on asking us permission before grabbing us. I don't think they particularly care about how we feel. Honestly, our being homesick is probably good for them. It'll bring them ratings. Who's Dr. Crusher?
