Who: Megaman and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide!
Action: Moping at the desk in the engineer's office on the SS Golden, lights on as usual
When: RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW somewhere around the space equivalent of midnight
Hello, I'd like to ask a question for anyone still awake. Some of you have been here for a little while now, right? I was wondering...has anyone ever been able to contact people they know back home here? Has Atroma ever allowed it, I guess.
My friends back home are probably really worried about me by now...I don't think they would know what's going on. To them I might have suddenly become missing! And I'd like to let them know that I'm okay, if I can. But I don't know if there's a way...
And also, since [ah] maybe I'm going to be here for awhile too. Does anyone have a database about outer space that I could borrow for a bit? A book or a data file you'd be willing to lend? Just, something that gets detailed about how things work in general out there. I have basic knowledge on the subject, but I'd like to learn more of I can.
Thank you.

We haven't met yet, but my name is Dr. Crusher. I've been here since March and from everything I've gathered, people at home have no idea we're even gone. Several of us have people from our own universes here who have arrived from a period time after our own capture who remember us being at home and living as we normally would, no mention of Atroma. Additionally, my captain, Sokka, recently returned home for three years and retained no memory of being here, but for us, it was only about a week that he was in stasis. I know it is only a small comfort, but in all liklihood your friends will be waiting for you just as you left them.
As to your other question, I normally live in space at home as well, so I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. And I do have a database from home, but unfortunately the files from my device are non transferable to the fleet's computers. I might be able to type something up for you, though.
Hope this helps!

Hello, Dr. Crusher! Thank you for taking the time to write this up, I'm still trying to wrap my head around some of the things around here. Correct me if I'm mistaken, then, but--in that case, there's probably differences in how time flows between here and back home? ...And no matter how long we're here, it won't seem that long at all to any friends where we left them? [Well, if there's multiple cases confirming it...hm.] This is actually pretty reassuring to hear! I just don't want them to be worried, but at least here it sounds like they won't be...
You normally live in space where you're from, though? That's pretty amazing! We haven't quite reached that level of technology where I'm from yet...at most we've been to the moon a couple of times, so far. A write-up would definitely be alright in the place of any kind of data transfer, though, if you'd be alright with taking questions! There might be a lot of them, I'm sorry in advance about that...
no subject
No need to apologize, I don't mind at all! Not everything from home will be applicable here of course, but I'll do what I can. You mention the moon. Are you from Earth then? If you're not, that's fine, it'll just help if I have a point of reference for you.
no subject
But yes, that's correct! I'm from Earth...you're familiar with it?
no subject
Yes, I'm from Earth as well... or at least, my people were originally. I was actually born on Luna, but I attended Starfleet Academy, which is a university of sorts, on Earth. Granted, I'm sure there are a lot of differences between our two versions of Earth. What year is it for you?
no subject
[Ah, 'versions' of Earth though, that's yet another concept he's still been trying to get used to. Alternate Earths...alternate universes! Dad would have a field day. But well, let's see here...]
I think there probably are a lot of differences, yes...I don't think I've heard of either of those places. But this is still a start! Let's see, right now it's the year 2010? I'm from Electopia, my Operator lives in ACDC Town...that's near Den City. Is any of that familiar either...? [
IT'S JAPAN HE MEANS JAPAN why does this canon do this we just don't know]no subject
But 2010... you mentioned that people have gone to the moon a couple of times. What about space probes or satellites? Or a space station maybe?
no subject
[Oh this is a good question though, let's see--]
We definitely have many satellites up there by now, I believe! And, according to my records, the International Space Station was also occupied in low orbit around ten years ago and has been ever since. [ah what else--] We were also able to somewhat retaliate against an extraterrestrial threat at one point very recently? The initial laser they tried to use didn't work, but they were able to beam a program up to the computer of the meteor being directed at us and change the settings of it! Ah, that was a pretty close call, though...does that sort of thing happen more often in the future?
[BECAUSE THAT SURE WAS A REAL HASSLE AT THE TIME he kind of hopes not...but then again, a future in space....]

Honestly, I think our own first encounter might have been a bit of a misunderstanding? The program they sent to us on that meteor was told to destroy any place with too much darkness in it, and I guess Earth does count for that in a way. But that's not really something we can completely get rid of either, I think. And that should be okay! But to the program, it wasn't. I can't really imagine a place where no one ever does anything bad, or hurts anyone else...but I guess that's what it's supposed to be like? Trying to learn about what aliens believe?

[If only because it was already hard enough dealing with one hostile alien ambassador of sorts. Just trying to imagine repeat hostile encounters is a bit exhausting...yeah, he'd definitely rather have aliens as allies than enemies, he thinks. And it's nice to hear that it still might be possible, at the very least...
But wait--]
Oh--that's right though, I'm sorry! All this time we've been talking, and I never even got around to introducing myself! I don't think we've met before, anyway. My name is Megaman, and it's been very nice speaking with you, Dr. Crusher. I think I've learned a lot already!
