[he shakes his head in automatic answer, but... after that, he pauses to actually look around. because no, he doesn't remember, which is why he'd been calling for help in the first place. but, now that they are actually at the shoreline and much closer to where they had originally parked days ago, it's looking kind of familiar.

it takes him a few moments to reorient and remember, before he finally points. down the beach, back near a rocky outcropping large enough for ships to land. there are a couple of ships currently parked there, so... hopefully the Red Fish is one of them.

It's the nature of being human, I think. [Once he gained the ability to live a comfortable life, it became a very real preference, even if he was capable of living with less. He was certain it wasn't a quality unique to just himself]

[Because it was a good match. Metal doesn't tell her anything, so a solid portion of his body language had been locked off from her. She could see where his chest was going to put his arm to a point, but the rest was harder. She had the advantage of knowing his metal arm would need to follow his flesh arm for most shots, and his legs and torso telegraphed where he would move well enough for her to keep up with him, but the arm had added an extra challenge.

People who give her a challenge when it comes to anything physical are ones who immediately make it to the top of her best friend list, so he's doomed now. Stuck with Cassandra Cain.]

To have monsters highly resistant to magic or sword, attacking anything that sets foot outside the city barrier - and occasionally passing through, when they are strong enough - or have lighting and heat that aren't candle and fireplace. On that scale. [ Duke shakes his head. ]

The clinging to some I can understand. Clean water, healing, those would be harder to replicate without the technology.
