[ When Elize awakens from cryosleep is when the network decides to record her panic as she sits up with a jolt, like she'd just woke up from a nightmare. It felt like a dream, but she's certain it wasn't. Before she even acknowledges the fact that she's back on the fleet, away from Rieze Maxia, she's searching around her bed frantically, patting at the sheets for something that should be there. ]

Teepo... Teepo?

[ She clasps her hands near her chest where she would normally hold her doll. It's the almost exact behavior during her first days on the fleet. Although she knows the full truth about the toy now, old habits die hard.

As she sits in her bed, she looks around at the metal walls of her room on the Huntress, taking deep breaths to calm down. She reaches up, gently running her finger around the augment behind her ear and confirming where she is. The memories are beginning to sink back in. ]

It's this place again.

[ A pause. ]

So he's your friend? [Is he the best friend she talked about before? Someone else?] I'm... sorry he's not here, Elize. But, um, he'd probably wanna make sure you're okay here, huh?

[ Knowing fully what Teepo is, she probably doesn't really need him anymore except for combat purposes. Still, holding onto him makes her feel much calmer. She's not comfortable talking about the full details yet, so she simply nods. ]

I just need some time.

[She nods, smiling slightly.]

I get it. You... [She huffs out a laugh. Wow, she is no good at this kind of thing.]

You're a really brave kid, you know?

[ After crying so much, she doesn't really feel that way. But she's trying her best to cope. ]

I don't know...

[She smiles a little wider now.]

I reeeeaaally think you are. You've been so brave every time I've seen you!

[ She cants her head to the side. ]

I... cried. [ Despite her previous claims that she isn't a crybaby. ] I don't feel very brave.

Um... [--No, she can't give Elize her usual advice to not cry. She can't tell a little girl to wear makeup!! And little girls can cry anyway, right?!]

I cry sometimes, too, you know? I-I try not to, but.... It... It doesn't mean you can't still be brave.

You cry too, Leanne?

[ For some reason, she can't picture Leanne crying. A lot of people have been putting a strong front for Elize though. It's not really a bad thing and gives her role models to aspire to be like. ]

...You seem stronger than me. And more energetic.

[She huffs out a laugh, shaking her head.]

Sometimes. And don't tell anyone, but... I used to cry a whole lot, too. Before I met my friends.

[Another shake of her head, and she winks.] But I think you're a lot stronger than you think.

...Thank you.

[ She smiles a bit, tiredly. All she can hope is to become an even stronger person. ]

Did you cry because you felt lonely?

Sometimes, [she repeats.] I think that was definitely one of the reasons.

And there's nothing wrong with that, you know?
