That situation sounds completely different from this one, so I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make. You're jumping to an awful lot of conclusions about me and this place, which is more than a little reckless.

It's not different at all. It's someone or something jerking us around for their entertainment, leaving us in a situation where there isn't much we can do about the shit it puts us through.

If anyone's being reckless, it's you, for not listening to someone who knows what they're talking about.

The effect doesn't mean the cause is the same. Just because something is similar doesn't make it the same.

Were my Captain to be screeching over the airwaves, I think I would start a mutiny. As someone that supposedly knows what they're talking about, you're supposed to be exemplary. When a Captain acts panicked or irrationally, their crew follows suit. Your job isn't just a figurehead. If there isn't enough medicine or any, you reassure people that it will be alright. You don't start unnecessary battles for their sake. You pick and choose the ones you can win after you've adequate information.

[ She sounds bored, if not tired. Bordering neutral, bordering too serious; the kind of cold that hisses to the touch and leaves a burn long after the memory of it is gone. There is an audible sigh, clipped into something that might even be a laugh. ]

[ this is actually really starting to piss her off. but, rather than giving in to her anger and screaming at jill, she's about to play this shit up for the ratings. The more people they have watching, the better supplies they'll get, and what better way to do that than start a catfight/rivalry? ]

Yeah, my crew is definitely gonna mutiny. Especially knowing the only other person willing to step up to be Captain is a complete moron.

[ while the anger behind jill's implications are real, she has no real intention of doing anything terrible to her. even if she finds her annoying, they're still technically allies int he fight against dumb reality tv. still, she's a pretty good actress, so it certainly comes off as a real threat ]

Again, you're jumping to conclusions. Instead of hearing criticism you hear an attack. That's the sort of thing that will end in casualties, were this to be a war. I didn't once say that you're stupid -- ignorant, maybe, but ignorance isn't stupidity.

[ She's pretty done with this whole conversation, since she says one thing and this kid hears another. In the end, she honestly doesn't give much of a shit about any of this beyond the fact that Chris is stuck on a ship with this incompetent woman. All she can do is hope that he gets that transfer of his approved lickety-split.
