[People who've been around the fleet for awhile might recognize the video feed coming from the Blue Fish's lab. Allen's standing behind his usual table, standing a bit...stiffer, than usual. Timcanpy can be found in the background, where he seems to have acquired a small straw sun hat and is using some tinfoil as a tanning screen in front of a lamp]

Hello all. For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker, one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish. Just a couple things today.

First of all, the bi-monthly blood drive is going to take place next weekend aboard the Blue Fish! If you wish to donate please fill out the form attached to this video. [The form that can be found here] Anyone who donates can be paid in either money or food. If you're interested in volunteering or you have any questions, please contact me. Any vampiric volunteers will not be allowed to sample or work directly with the blood.

Second, while I'm sure many of you are enjoying your time on the warm beaches, please remember to wear sunscreen if you're going to be out there for a long period of time. [He grimaces a little, as if he learned that one the hard way] Also please make sure to keep yourself hydrated, watch out for storms, and use proper precautions if you're helping with the fungus problem.

Lastly, if you're looking for a way to earn money aside from donating blood, remember you can always donate medical supplies to the clinics! Prices will vary on supply and demand, but I'm willing to pay you in either credits or this planet's currency. Right now, I'm sure any sort of sunburn or hangover treatments would be very much appreciated. If you're a lab assistant interested in having supplies sent to your clinic, please let me know.

[He gives a wave, and the feed cuts out. When the feeds over, he gives a sigh of relief, flops down in his chair and starts...playing that game Crowley made for the network. Yep. That stupid addictive game.]

[This silence is the sound of Rogue thinking, caution warring with the desire to help. She has reasons, though, for not wanting to just... put her blood in strangers' hands. It's not just the knowledge of blood magic, but mutants and scientists don't really have the greatest history. She has no reason to think that her blood wouldn't work to help someone - she's even type O - but at the same time...

You run these things every other month, ya said?

[Thinking, thinking, thinking... Ugh, why did things have to be complicated.]

[He meanwhile isn't all that surprised she seems so uncertain on the video. It's a rather common experience. People came from all sorts of different worlds, and many of them have had bad experiences with things like this. Which meant...he could understand why she seems hesitant. And so he doesn't push, and just smiles instead.]

Yes, that's right.

...then maybe next time.

[If something came up in between, then... she'd be able to contribute then. If not, then at least she'd know these people a little better by then.]

Thanks [the briefest pause as she recalls his name from his broadcast.] Allen. [And shift in gears.] About how long have you been here?

About ten months now. I was among the first people brought aboard.

[Ah-ha! An information source!

Rogue let out a shaky laugh.]

Oh man, have I got a lot of questions for you.

[Are you kidding, Rogue has like a zillion questions right now, each one bouncing around for dominance and importance.]

Has the food always been made from paste?

[...yes, she just asked that. But it was harder to grasp the essential threads of what she needed to know right off the bat. And even in her desire to know more about what was going on, Rogue couldn't forget that she was talking to a person, not just a source. She should at least try not to ask potentially painful questions just yet.]

Unfortunately, yes. In fact the first couple months, that's all there was to eat.

Yuck. [Rogue makes a disgusted face.]

And no coffee?

[There's a bit of a mournful note to her tone. Someone might be going through withdrawal.]

If your crew purchases the third kitchen upgrade, there's coffee. It's not the best, but you get free rations of it!

[Trust him to know about the kitchens]

[That is a sigh. Hope! Light at the end of the tunnel! There could be coffee again.]

Mm- what ship were you placed on?

The Vanquish. [Which was a very triumphant and warrior-ish sounding name, now that she says it out loud. Huh.] It's a nice ship.

The Vanquish? That's one of the newer ships, I think.

[At least, he's pretty sure it is]

Last November, a lot of the older ships received a free coffee machine from this one cereal company. Maybe if one of those ships have the third Kitchen upgrade too, you could barter for that spare one. [No promise on coffee grounds though] You'd have to speak with our cook about Blue Fish's spare, of course.

[...you Blue Fish people are all really positive about each other. She remembers her earlier conversation with Sokka. It makes her feel a little homesick. X-Men were like that.

So the manic glint in her eyes tones down a bit, but she's still friendly, hopeful, and determined.]
