Eleventh ♠ Video

Who: Allen Walker
Broadcast: Video
Action: SS Blue Fish
When: Today!

[People who've been around the fleet for awhile might recognize the video feed coming from the Blue Fish's lab. Allen's standing behind his usual table, standing a bit...stiffer, than usual. Timcanpy can be found in the background, where he seems to have acquired a small straw sun hat and is using some tinfoil as a tanning screen in front of a lamp]

Hello all. For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker, one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish. Just a couple things today.

First of all, the bi-monthly blood drive is going to take place next weekend aboard the Blue Fish! If you wish to donate please fill out the form attached to this video. [The form that can be found here] Anyone who donates can be paid in either money or food. If you're interested in volunteering or you have any questions, please contact me. Any vampiric volunteers will not be allowed to sample or work directly with the blood.

Second, while I'm sure many of you are enjoying your time on the warm beaches, please remember to wear sunscreen if you're going to be out there for a long period of time. [He grimaces a little, as if he learned that one the hard way] Also please make sure to keep yourself hydrated, watch out for storms, and use proper precautions if you're helping with the fungus problem.

Lastly, if you're looking for a way to earn money aside from donating blood, remember you can always donate medical supplies to the clinics! Prices will vary on supply and demand, but I'm willing to pay you in either credits or this planet's currency. Right now, I'm sure any sort of sunburn or hangover treatments would be very much appreciated. If you're a lab assistant interested in having supplies sent to your clinic, please let me know.

Thank you everyone! Have a nice day.

[He gives a wave, and the feed cuts out. When the feeds over, he gives a sigh of relief, flops down in his chair and starts...playing that game Crowley made for the network. Yep. That stupid addictive game.]

[OOC: Due to time restraints, the blood drive this handwaved! If you wish to say your character donated, please fill out the information linked above!]

Guess so. You'd never know listening to most of them.

[Shounen heroes, yo.]

But probably a lot. It's just complicated by the fact no one is supposed to remember shit. Uh, most of the time. Maybe. My results are probably skewed.

Speeches. Thinking shit can be solved with just speeches. Or that you can make idiotic sacrifices without it coming back to bite you in the ass, like writing off a whole universe just 'cause of one fucking guy. Like that's the moral high ground. [Things Davesprite is still bitter about for $500, Alex. He likes idealists—a lot of his best friends have been idealists—but he's been sorely disappointed in those same people and their complete lack of foresight.] I dunno, just a lot of bullshit.

But probably not, if all the times people go back whence they came and only remember when they reappear is anything to go by. I mean, you can't really fulfill whatever stupid purpose the universe signed you up for with all these other memories kicking around. Sometimes shit you were never supposed to know.

Multiple someones. Like I don't think they really understood what they were doing, but you can't just go, "Hey, I understand jack shit about what's going down here, but I'm still gonna weigh in with my opinions on permakilling a dude who is actually really fucking important to the integrity of his reality," without thinking about the ramifications of those actions.

[He'd shake his head if he weren't using audio.]

Anyway. I don't think I'd call it destiny, pretending it does got something to do with why we forget. [In part because he doesn't like saying "destiny" or "fate", however inescapable they've seemed in his own life. It's easier to say he's just "supposed" to do something, instead of giving it a name and making paradox space's bullshit feel too real, too unstoppable, like all the choices he's ever made—foreordained or not—really are irrelevant.] But like there's someone you're supposed to be at a certain point in time, who's got to make certain choices. And most of the time that person's not cut out to make room for this whole other life you had and the person you are now. So everything gets forcibly compartmentalized, to let you make those decisions without getting distracted by who you were or became or might've been.

[He isn't entirely aware he's speaking about his experiences with time travel and all his alt selves. But he sure does have a fuckload to say about it.]

Uh.

[Davesprite is too surprised to be mad. He doesn't really get called on anything he says—regardless of how badly he may or may not need it—because no one understands enough of what comes out of his mouth. Or they just aren't Jade, and she's sort of given up at this point. So his first reaction is surprise, then curiosity, then a delayed maybe I should be mad?, but nope. The moment is past.

Nah, man, he likes what he just heard, in a fondly nostalgic kind of way. Reminds him of John.]

Ok. [It's not sarcastic or derisive. If anything, it's kind of quietly pleased.] I mean, it's not like I know if any of that is true anyway. But what you said sounds nice. Most people would prefer to believe it. [Which might read like a dig at the idealistic shounen speech angle, but it isn't meant to be.]
