Otherwise, you might find him in the corner of a room, thinking quietly and staring off into space.]

[ Yeah, someone's noticed and someone is confused. Of course, when Noah is confused he doesn't act confused. He acts angry. Because. ]
no subject
[ she casts a sidelong glance at him, amused despite the anger in the response. ]
It's complicated, but I've got the captain's permission. It'll end up being really cool, I promise.
no subject
This is not art, you know that shit, right? This is dirt and mud all over damn the ship.
no subject
[ she pulls her hand back to give it a surprised and betrayed look, before it just dissolves into laughter. ]
No shit. [ the response would probably have a little more bite if it weren't said with such buoyant lightness. ] I've got a power, but I can only use it with dirt as a base. It'll be worth it soon, I promise, cross my heart. Or I'll powerwash it all off or something.
no subject
Sounds like a useless power up in space. You that desperate? Shit, doesn't dirt and stuff have germs? Get people sick?
[ What an idiot. ]
no subject
Pretty much everything ever has germs. But, no: the mere act of being near dirt will not actually make you sick. And the fact that it's a useless power in space is the reason why I'm fingerpainting with mud, jeeeez. I've got plenty of non-useless powers, too, but this is probably gonna be the most useful one when I've got a little dirt around.
no subject
Didn't say being near it would make you sick. Who knows what kind of shit is in that dirt, though? Isn't there a fucking plague on that planet?

[ she puffs her cheeks out slightly at him, before she drags her fingers against some of the drying mud and sand. some flowery moss sprouts, and jade winds a few blossoms around her fingertips, reaching out to offer them to him. ]
Just hold your breath when you pass, you'll be fine.
no subject
Pretty fancy. Making an oxygen farm or something?

[ He gives a wide shrug. ]
Yeah, guess it does beat all that shit they feed us in the kitchen.
no subject
And, see? A little mud on the walls is worth it.
no subject
[ He may or may not actually be rather interested in that answer, even if he's still playing indifference by examining the little plant she made earlier. ]
Whatever. If any of you idiots get sick, I'm out of here.
no subject
[ she trails off, shrugging awkwardly. ]
I can give you a real, actual explanation if you want.
no subject
[ Jade, please. ]
no subject
[ SHE OFFERS HIM A MUDDY HANDSHAKE and tries to look blithely oblivious to how gross it is. ]

More often than not, Noah's been ghosting the halls and generally being a low-level nuisance or sometimes a genuinely curious young adult. It varies from day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute sometimes. The biggest vibe he gives off is instability, not always the dangerous kind. But right now he's apparently got a project.
The engine room isn't really big enough for this, so he's moved himself outside just into the back of the cargo room. He has some vending machine remains and other pieces of metal and bitwork from the scavenged waystations around the planet. Right now he's got some laid out, pounded into different shapes and pressed together in what looks like some kind of humanoid shape. If only a third of progress could be called a shape at all. ]

his thoughts are promptly cut short when he walks into the cargo bay for something or other when he happens to trip on a piece of... whatever it was. he squawks, nearly falling over into the rest of the pile but thankfully regains his footing a good four feet away.
barely, anyway. ]
What the hell--?!
no subject
[ Noah doesn't really care about how Lloyd is doing since he's clearly able to yelp about it, so he skitters over to the piece Lloyd dislodged and starts checking it over. ]
No, looks good... Be grateful your feet aren't as hard as your head, dumbass.
no subject
but wow geez that's one hell of a reaction?? give him a moment as he manages to process what he said exactly... ]
Wha-- Who're you calling a dumbass?! [ yeah he's fine, thanks for asking. note that he didn't even try to contest the hard head comment. he takes a quick glance around, taking in the humanoid shape. ] And what's with all this junk laying around, anyway?
no subject
You, you dumbass. What's it look like? I'm making a robot shell. See if it'll even hold up with these crap materials.
