I've seriously been slacking lately ... so, anyone wanna spar? I know it's kinda late at night, but I could super use the practice.

I'd rather not be caught off guard if I can help it.

Caught off-guard by what? All you need is a volley ball and you do plenty of damage.

[ You know, she could go into listing the potential dangers, explaining how she's learned from her time in a multiverse situation that it's best to be prepared for anything, etc. ...

... But she's pretty sure that all of that would go right over his head, so she opts to taunt him instead ]

Granny Erina would be pretty disappointed in me if I hit a girl.

It's a lot more disrespectful to treat a girl like she isn't just as capable of hitting back as a man, if you ask me.

The fact that he's so confused about it at least abates her temper a little bit, though. ]

And besides, there's nothing wrong with a friendly spar. Obviously you shouldn't just hit girls for no reason, but if your sensei is a girl then you must have had to practice fighting with her, right?

Not really... [He rubs at the back of his neck. Except for that one time he thought she was a man and then surprise! He super got his ass handed to him, but his training hadn't even started yet so that doesn't count.] I'm sure Caesar has, but I was only in training with her for a month.

You never sparred with your own teacher.

[ She sounds so unimpressed omg ]

No. [Her unimpressed state of being both makes him fidget and annoys him. Lisa Lisa had been impressed with his raw talent in the beginning. What does Ino know anyway? He's getting haughty now.] I sparred with Loggins. He's the one I worked with every day. Lisa Lisa just oversaw everything.

"Loggins"?

[ She's just imagining a dude made of logs, now.

... Not the point, though, and she quickly gets back on topic ]

Well, I guess that's less weird. Still, there's nothing wrong with a friendly fight.

[He shrugs a shoulder at the strange naming practices of Loggins' parents. He's got nothin'.]

You'd still want to? You don't seem to think too much of my skills.

[He's chafed about it, okay. Joseph is very competitive as she probably realized from watching him play volleyball.]

[ Yes, she did notice that, which is why she was taunting him in the first place. But the problem is ... she is competitive af, too ]

Well, I won't really know what to think unless I see for myself.

Alright, well, if you're sure and since you asked, I won't hold back just because you're a girl.

You say a lot of smart things, Ino, but I think that's the smartest thing you've said yet.

[ She grins ]

Maybe you should say nicer things about me more often then.

[HE IS NOT FISHING TO BE CALLED HANDSOME, OKAY. ...Not specifically this time anyway. And even then, he doesn't actually mind all that much that she's a little mean to him. If he did, he wouldn't keep coming back for more.]
