[Dread is probably not a good feeling to have in the face of actually having something resembling a 'team' now. Unfortunately, the way this place seems to love uprooting and depositing people out of nowhere into unfamiliar territory, and it sets him on edge.

His eyes narrow as he looks around yet another place he's unaccustomed, being bombarded by-- colorful shreds of paper and overly-cheerful music. And even more people. Once again, he longs for the familiar weight of a weapon in his hand, but this fleet just loves to suck the comfort out.

At least this is a more permanent residence? Time would tell on that one.]

[She lets her hand fall smoothly, and then it's as if she hadn't ever extended it in the first place. It offers a few more details about him, these additions in body language, his hesitance to touch and his direct gaze. He's not the man she spoke to previously, that's for certain; nothing like him, or else a very good pretender.]

[He lets the question settle for a moment, actually giving it more than just a passing thought. His gaze flicks away to a spot just past her shoulder before he shakes his head minutely.]

[A sharp nod; her gaze rakes over his face, gauging whether or not he's being honest. In the end, she decides he is.]

Then you ought to tell me what suits you. If you're going to live here, I have no intention of calling you by a name that's not yours.

[He's still not sure what to make of her, but giving him the choice is good enough for him.]

[And she supposes that does suit him, after all; something in his eyes is cold, something in his posture frozen.]

Sir, please, if you have to pick one or the other. Do you want to see where everything is?

Yes, sir. [A nod of acknowledgement.]

[He's nothing at all like the Jim Barnes that she probably knows. None of the warmth or personable skills, certainly.]

[She nods back. He understands her, she's beginning to understand him - or at least she believes she is. She turns with the understanding and expectation that he'll follow her.]

Kitchen first. Kitchen's most important. Do you know what your augment is yet?

[ He follows her out of the bridge, committing the route to memory, keeping a respectable distance between them. ]

Lab support, sir.

Oh, good. We didn't have any of you yet.

[She pushes the kitchen door open, standing aside to let him pass inside. It's the same as any of the other kitchens on the fleet, with the exception of a state-of-the-art coffee machine in the corner.]

[ He doesn't deign a response necessary for her comment, so he stays silent, moving past her and into the kitchen. This is indeed a kitchen.

Once he's finished looking around, he looks back to the Captain and nods. ]
