So. We're in space? I mean, we're definitely in space - but are we seriously in space? Deets needed, SOS, et cetera, et cetera. [ he cuts his eyes up, definitely glancing at someone off-screen and making a face that sort of says I have no idea what I'm supposed to be saying or doing right now, before he looks back to the communicator. ] Someone help the new guy out, here.

Is anyone trying to kill me?

[That question makes Jennifer look a little sad. This young woman looks like she's still a teenager- why would anyone be trying to kill her?]

No- we do get put in peril every now and then, but we never seem to be in any lethal danger. Atroma seems to want to keep us alive- the audience doesn't like to see us die.

[ she's very deadpan and serious throughout the conversation ]

Then I'm not sure I'm that familiar with it.

[Jennifer nods. She really, really wants to know more- but she can guess that if someone was trying to kill her, it was probably a sore subject.]

Our audience is much happier with us hale and hearty, from what I've gathered. That's not to mean we don't ever get hurt, but it's almost like... like they plan just enough for it to get exciting, never lethal. For example, we got attacked by a fleet of ships that disappeared just as soon as they appeared. They damaged some of our ships and a few of us got roughed up, but that was the extent of it.

I don't like the idea of performing.

I don't, either- I just... go about my day. I do my job and live my life like normal. I don't do it with the audience in mind.

Is it rally that easy?

Yeah. I mean, you are aware the audience is there, but they don't seem to be able to directly interact with us a lot. Atroma will read fan mail every now and then, and sometimes we'll get money or gifts from fans and sponsors, but that's all.
