[Cheese has been here for three months now, and it's clear Atroma aren't about to get rid of him, so he has an important mission to carry out. He turns on the video feed at stares down at the camera, his face is serious. This is serious business. ]

Okay, everypony. I have a super duper absolutely utterly important question to ask all of you. I really, really need an answer from everypony. It's that important.

[He leans a little closer in, to show how REALLY IMPORTANT it is. ]

I need to you tell me when your birthdays are. I also accept dates of anniversaries or likewise important dates to you.

[He picks up a pencil from off camera, and sits poised, ready to write into a little notebook. His words are a little muffled when he speaks again on account of the pencil in his mouth. Earth pony problems.]

I guess we can always work something out from the calendars we got? But I'm used to not doing a whole lot for mine. Drifter, and everything.

It doesn't have to be anything big, but you should at least have dessert.

[That would mean admitting his own emotional problems and there ain't no way he's opening up that can of worms. ]

[She can tell he's still reluctant, though of course, she doesn't realize why... she assumes it's just the general sort of reluctance she's seen before from party-planning types. They often like being behind the scenes more than at the center of attention. She does tone down her excitement levels, (as well as she can, given the augment issues) but she's clearly pleased he agreed to it.]

Good! Well, first things first: you said your days and nights are different? How so?

Okay. So I know some planets have an orbit? I think that's the word they used. And their sun and moon move on it with the planet or...whatever.

For us, we have two alicorn princesses, Celestia and Luna, who raise and lower the sun and moon respectively. They've been doing it for thousands of years, and before they came around, the unicorns did it.

[A few months ago, she would have balked at this explanation, but honestly it sounds no more improbable than the moon being a flower. Thanks, Finrod! You've helped her prepare for stuff like this.]

Hmm... do they do this over a 24 hour period? Or are your daily cycles different lengths?

Oh yeah, it's over twenty four hours. Though the sun kinda moves in..spurts, I guess? It's not like Earth where it moves super duper slowly. Because Celesita can't just spend all day using her magic on the sun. It goes up until it's time for Luna to do her job, and then it gets brought down.

So does that mean... do you not have sunrises and sunsets?

Oh yes, but they tend to move faster than the Earth ones. Depending on how busy the Princesses are, I guess.
