[ Nova looks... tired, especially if you saw her on her first day. She's sitting up on her bed and her space looks pretty immaculate and not at all lived-in. She looks a little anxious, and rebraids the bottom of her hair before speaking, visibly uncomfortable with the camera. ]

Uh. Hey. I guess. I hope I'm not waking anyone up. I'm new so... I don't know. I can't sleep. Does anyone have any tips? Or something? It's... well, it's not exactly quiet, because things make noise. But it's... sterile? It doesn't sound right, or smell right.

I don't really want to think about it too hard. Anyway. If you could tell me what you did when you were new...

[ She trails off, awkward and tired and lets the silence go on a little long ]

It's probably just a personal problem.

[She nods her head in acknowledgement.] Good. Those are good skills to have.

[On that end,] We should spar sometime, if you're up to it.

[It would give her a good idea on just how extensive Nova's skills are, and it would be a good way to keep in shape up in such a tight space.]

Yeah, we should. Maybe after I've gotten some sleep, if that ever happens.

[ seems a little resigned about that ]

I'm really only trained in bow work, but I can fight when I need to.

It might take some getting used to, but it'll come easier. Eventually. When you're rested, I'll teach you a few things.

Maintenance. Even when you're not fighting you want to keep your skills up. [Hence, to some degree; sparring. She shrugs, smiling wryly.] Easier when you're surrounded by a dozen guys vying for your title and can offer you a decent workout.

Oh. I'm just usually surrounded by people trying to kill me.

[Furiosa gives a dark chuckle.] That'll do it.

It's been awhile, though, so I might be rusty.

We can fix that. But first, rest. There's no urgent need for it now so you can take your time getting used to this place.

I'd be sleeping if I could.

I know. [It's an adjustment. She gets that.] It won't come easy, but you'll get there.

I get nightmares.

[ she doesn't seem totally excited to mention it but she's tired and feeling resigned ]

[She watches Nova quietly, careful not to shift her expression. That's no anything anyone wants to admit, but it is something she has experience in.] I knew someone who suffered nightmares as well. He never wanted to talk about it, but if you need someone to listen, consider my door open.

[It's hard times. Everyone deals with madness in their own way.]
