She's scooting up right next to him and wrapping her arms around him from behind, putting her chin on his shoulder ]

Dunno. Sometimes he moves stuff around in here when he sleeps in here.

tadashi turns his head to the side, kissing at her temple when her chin lands on his shoulder. ]

I guess... I should ask him to just leave it alone. I thought I'd lost it.

[ as if this is unfathomable... omg tadashi maybe there's a reason why you've been single so long. ]

[ Not entirely true, but it's nicer than saying it looks dumb ... LMAO.

Anyways, she's still got her fingers in his hair, and she's gently making her way up the side there. ... And she might be pressing her chest up against his back a little more.

... Yeah, she is trying to distract her way out of this ]

Aunt Cass got it for me when I got accepted into SFIT, and then I showed up here without it - I couldn't believe I actually got it back in the first place-

[ omg he wants to be a little upset but that's really, really hard with ino doing.... all of that... he's losing steam even as he starts talking. ]

If you don't want me to wear it, just... tell me, alright? Don't make me think I lost it.

[ yeah he's totally deflated here. ]

[ Oh ... she ... didn't know it was, you know, an actual item of importance ... She just thought it was a hat he liked to wear. Omg. :(

SHE FEELS SUPER GUILTY NOW ... This is a whole different thing than just joking around or, you know, being fussy about how he looks or whatever. So ... she'll stop what she's doing with her fingers, dropping her hand to his shoulder. She takes her chin off his shoulder and ducks her head so her forehead is pressed to his back ]

I wouldn't tell you not to wear something like that. I just didn't ...

[ She didn't know, but -- that's an excuse, not an apology, so she cuts herself off and tries again ]

[ tadashi sort of regrets spilling the beans there, because - really, no matter who gave it to him or what that might mean, it's still just a hat, and he hates that he's made her feel guilty. he settles, going still when she presses her forehead against his back, before he finally swallows a little sigh and tosses the hat onto the bedside table.




and really, as important as it is as a symbol to him, 80% of the reason he wears it is because of his ears. :|!!!!! ]

Probably not a good idea to go lugging something like that around planetside though, right? If I really do lose it, probably not gonna actually find it again.

[ he's trying to twist a little, to pull her around to his front. ]

[ Newsflash: IT MAKES THE EARS LOOK BIGGER BOYFRAIN ...

She lets him do that though, looking up at him remorsefully now ]

You can do whatever you want with it. I bring my lighter everywhere with me.

[ Honestly, she'd probably feel a little less guilty about this if she didn't have an item of her own that was a tie to someone she would most likely never see again. But she does, and somebody hiding it without telling her would probably upset her, so ... ]

[ someone should clue him into that fact girlfran...

he winces a little at that remorseful look, leaning down to kiss her gently but firmly. apologizing, in his own way. ]

I never said anything about it. And until I got it back, I didn't even remember where I'd gotten it in the first place. [ it only really became meaningful after the weight of the realization that he'd probably never go back home settled in. ] Just... tell me things, okay? I promise my feelings won't be hurt if you think a hat I like looks dumb.

[ino]

[ She is also not very used to a boyfriend without an explosive temper, and so even when she's digested what he's said and kissed him back, she still looks unsure when she pulls away. ]

You're not mad?

[ishere]

I was kind of annoyed for a few minutes, but you apologized, so...

[ he's making a funny face at her. ]

Seems like a pretty dumb thing to get mad about, though. No harm done, right?

[ino]

Yeah, but ...

[ But what? It's not like she WANTS him to be mad.

She relaxes a little bit after a moment, like she was almost holding her breath without realizing. ]

... I guess not. I'm sorry.

[ishere]

[ tadashi will just lean down, moving as if to nip the tip of her nose. he's found his hat, everything's good, there's nothing worth being upset about. not when he has her here like this, so. ]

And I'm sorry I woke you up.

Tadashi, the air turning on wakes me up.

[ She is a very light sleeper, if he hasn't noticed ... part of being a ninja, sigh.

But, at least that seems to have gotten her lips to quirk up in a small smile ]

[ he has, but he's ... still gonna apologize... ok... ]

I was gonna make some joke about you being fine, but - [ he's laughing even as he's talking here, weirdly embarrassed. ] I don't think I can talk like that and keep a straight face.

She's grinning a little bit, now, settling in his lap and draping her arms on his shoulders ]

[ She gets a quick smooch in, but then she leans back from where she's sitting to grab at it from the bedside table ]

[ after this long, little smooches still leave him looking kind of doofy. ]
