Who: Cass and you!
Broadcast: audio
Action: three twins if you want!!
When: now buddy
I know there's, uh... doctors here, and scientists. People with those augments, who can... do those jobs.
Are there teachers? Anyone who... can teach reading? Lots of people... make just text messages, here. Figure, I'm probably missing things. I want to learn, if anyone... can teach me.
[Batman would want her to be doing more than she has been when it comes to the more scholastic requirements of being a superhero, after all. The idea of him somehow showing up here and being disappointed in how much she's slacked off in those terms doesn't sit well at all.]
Oh, doesn't have to... be a teacher. Anyone who knows, would like to help... would be helpful.

Soon, I guess. Now? Whenever you... have free time.
voice;
All right. Ah — I don't have any books with me, do you?
voice;
[Bad for teaching, because she has no idea what they're actually about. She just picked the ones that had interesting covers on the off chance she might one day find a teacher.]

[And he kind of sucks at it, but at least he can a little.]
Comes in handy 'cause one of my rig's crew doesn't talk at all.

Was it hard, learning that way?
[She can't imagine schematics having a whole lot of words to be learned on them.]

Yes please. Seems like more teachers... would mean faster learning.
[Which is probably not true, but it can't hurt.]
What's your name?
audio;
I'm Clay, Clay Terran. How about you, what's yours?
audio;
Have you taught before?
[It doesn't really matter if he has or hasn't, really, but she's curious now.]

[Now that she's really taking the time to consider it, she realizes she doesn't actually know how that works. How a person without her particular disadvantages would be taught.]

The augments translate, but don't know... if it works for writing. Can understand you, though, so it... might work fine?
[Or she'll end up going home speaking some garbled mess of language. Who even knows.]
audio
It probably works fine. I am new to this place, so I had never thought about it before either.
Ah, my name is Margie.

and he doesn't really have a reason to, but he quietly flips his video feed on all the same. the best reason he can make in his head about it, is that he's been trying to establish stronger contacts lately, and contacts are valuable.
so, once the camera is on, he opens his hand in a hesitant little greeting.]

she can see it, though--the subtle lightening of his features, right before the awkward glance away. it's not a smile, but it's close enough as far as he's concerned. the fact that she's going out of her way to return the signs only adds to it.
then he points at her, makes an easy sign of opening his hands like a book, and draws a question mark in the air with one finger.]

I happen to be a history teacher, but I'm pretty sure I can handle some reading lessons too.

History is... past things, right? [Someone has never been to school don't judge her.] That's not boring, to you?
