Are there teachers? Anyone who... can teach reading? Lots of people... make just text messages, here. Figure, I'm probably missing things. I want to learn, if anyone... can teach me.

[Batman would want her to be doing more than she has been when it comes to the more scholastic requirements of being a superhero, after all. The idea of him somehow showing up here and being disappointed in how much she's slacked off in those terms doesn't sit well at all.]

[yep, he's... surprised when he finally leaves his bunk and finds her there. funny, he'd expected some kind of message to announce her arrival or something.

though, if he really stops to think about it, would he have offered someone else that particular sort of courtesy?

either way, he stops short in the doorway of the kitchen when he spots her. even to someone who isn't uncommonly good at reading unspoken intent, the little open-handed gesture of confusion is very clearly asking 'what the hell?']

[Oh there he is. She's got to grin a little at the body language that comes with that hand wave, too, because he probably doesn't realize it but it's a little cute.]

Didn't want to... just barge in. Hi.

[She'll get up and head on over to him now.]

[there's just a flicker of confusion over the grin-- both because he's still unused to people appearing happy to see him, and worrying that he's being made fun of somehow. he brushes it off right after, though.

and he automatically stops moving when she heads in his direction. it's not for any real wariness or discomfort; it's a much more automatic thing, waiting to see what she's going to do.]
