[the video pops on in the heron's bunk room, propped up on what can be assumed to be a pillow. hinata sits on his bed, and for the first time, he's decided to address the network. he never really knew how to go about it before, but now he has a reason to try.

[he's sitting with his knees up, a volleyball in his lap and his hands on top of that. his face is tucked just a bit behind it, adding to the illusion that he's smaller than he appears. for those of his shipmates, and those who know him, he seems... significantly subdued. when he speaks, it's apparent why.]

What do you guys do when you're homesick?

[ Hey, it's that kid from the beach. Allen recognizes the tell-tale signs the kid is showing here. Truth is, the main thing Allen does is watch recordings on Timcanpy...but he guesses the kid doesn't have that option. So time to go for the other trick. ]

Well...sometimes I write letters to my friends who aren't here. Even if they probably won't see them, it's like I'm talking to them, you know?

Try to do things that remind me of people back home. Or things that would make them proud of me.

[... Aww. Clay can relate to that; much as he loves it out here in space, he'd love to be able to keep in contact with the friends and family he left behind, and... he kind of can't do that right now.]

I write about all the discoveries I made, every place I visited, everything I learned, and all the people I met. I plan to tell everyone all about it when I get home!

[She's actually on the same ship, but she's hanging out on the bridge, so.]

Sometimes I do what I'm doing now: look into space and try to figure out which bit of light is home.

[She has no idea if her Galaxy is even visible at whatever distance this is--most likely it would just appear as another star without high-powered equipment. But she can try.]

I try not to think about home. Not that I do not miss parts of it...

It is hard to think back on what I left, or what might be waiting for me if I return.

[She doesn't really answer right away when she sees the broadcast, waits till she reaches the bunks instead, and raps her knuckles against the wall.]

Homesick, huh? [She smiles. Would it be weird if she answered the question anyway now...] There's a lot of really distracting stuff here, you know. I think it helps.
