[This is not happening. Nope. There were happy endings, and sunshine, and portals home, and she damn well walked through one. Not only does this quiet, sterile place bear no resemblance to, y'know, a brigantine sloop or a crazy ocean, but she's turned up here alone.

She was pretty sure the animus were on the level with the whole going home thing. The fact the Adstringendum communicator is giving her nothing but static when she tries to use it is, uh. Not comforting, to say the least. She explores the accessible area in due haste, looking for anyone she recognises. Or anyone at all. And then she sits cross-legged in the middle of the one hallway and tries to get the communicator working by prying at it with fingernails, hitting random buttons, and eventually just hitting the wall with it a few times before tossing it away from her with a huff.

Not happy doesn't really cover it.

She finds the broadcast system, staring down at the controls suspiciously. She shouldn't know how to use this. But, well. In the absence of being able to do anything else-- ]

This turning up in mysterious new places thing was old the first time it happened. Where the hell is this, and what hoops do I have to jump through to get home? [Sweet, sweet sarcasm. But at least she's holding onto her temper.] And where's my staff?

And-- and who fixed my shirt?

Aboooout four months. But I was in a different place to this, except...the same with the kidnapping people from other worlds thing for six months before I came here.

[One Piece + Jamjars tend to dull the weirdness factor, really...]

Paradisa. It was a big, magical castle that took something important from everypony it kidnapped, and then kinda...ate our souls.

It did weird stuff every month.

Oh, I'm fine. My home world isn't a picnic, either. I'm used to crazy weird stuff happening.

Crazy weird is my world too, but at least I'm pretty sure nothing eats souls there.

...we did have a spirit try to eat souls at the place I was just at, right at the end, but he wasn't in charge of the place. Just crazy.

No soul eating back home either. [A pause. A frown. ] Well, except for the last time I was there kinda... but he got defeated.

So, he just like...took over the place? Started chowing down on souls?

...yeah. [Recent enough (as in two-days-ago recent) that her voice is more subdued.]

He tried to kill everyone. Succeeded with half of us. We dealt with him in the end.

Ouch. I'm sorry to hear that.

[And he really, truly is. He hates the thought of others suffering. ]

I'm glad you guys won? That's... it doesn't really fix the people you've lost, but it's something.

Well, it's actually not that bad. [She realises how that sounds now--]

He killed our friends to take their souls, but when we fought him we managed to pull the souls out of his reach. It was... stressful and hard, but there were spirits powerful enough to help them. Death was kind of, uh. Temporary, there. It was weird.

...so in the end, I know it sounds bad, but we all got out alive.

Oh. Well that's...

[Really fucking weird. ]

That's good! I'm glad nopony died.

[Jamjars, man. She could say actually, they did. Pretty horribly. But it kind of loses its punch when you add and then they got better.]

They went through hell in the meantime, so... I'm glad they didn't get stuck there. And supposedly that whole mess opened the way back home, but...

[She blows her bangs out of her face and waves a hand. This isn't home.]

[He glances around at his own surroundings, giving a little snort. ]

Looks like they skipped the actual being home thing. I went home, but then I ended up here? It's like they were stalking me, or something.

I think getting to go home for a while might be worse.

...well. I guess at least people here seem pretty friendly, anyway.

I'd forgotten everything about Paradisa until I came here. It was...weird.
