I'm more used to writing letters than I am shorter notes, if that's what these could be called. Is it bothersome to you that I sign each one?

I'll have to try the ships meeting in space sometime, It sounds like an interesting endeavor.

As for knitting, what a wonderfully homey way to pass your spare time. If it were only needlepoint I could claim that I know many who'd entirely approve of the practice of keeping hands from idleness, but knitting must be close.

( for "useful" things to do. that's her own sarcasm that she really isn't expecting to be heard, given the written medium, but still... )
