[It's been a whirlwind day for Kurt Wagner. He was emotionally raw from a traumatic event when he woke up in space. Kurt had arrived on the day of the shuffle and had been doing his best to try to keep a low profile. People aren't always the most acceptable of a fuzzy blue mutant who looks like a devil, after all. And he'd managed to pick up the basics, at least, between what encounters he had on the Marsiva, while managing to be lucky enough to avoid the network.

His luck ran out once he was shuffled onto the Huntress. The video feed catches an unsuspecting Kurt Wagner tinkering with his watch and being increasingly frustrated with it as he keeps prodding at it.]

Come onnn.... Why won't it work? Oh man!

I don't think there really is a welcoming committee. We should probably fix that, huh. Because new people are showing up all the time, and it's fucking weird.

Heh... I guess it would be pretty helpful! But everyone I talked to so far has been doing well enough, I guess.

Once you realize you're in outer space, most of the rest seems kind of believable next to it.

But isn't it cool, being in space? I mean, people have been in space forever, but I've never been.

I think the weirdest part of all this is just the waking up somewhere completely different. From what other people have said we should be glad it's something awesome like a space ship and not like some corporate psych experiment disguised as a magical castle or something.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's totally cool to be in space! [A lot better than the time that Magneto kidnapped them all onto an asteroid, that's for sure.] I just... didn't see it coming.

Why would someone disguise a psych experiment as a magical castle... I don't get it. But yeah, I guess things could be a lot worse.

Yeah, definitely wasn't expecting it either. Like... surprise, space! But it's a pretty cool surprise...

I don't get it either. Vanyel tried to explain it to me... but he also didn't think it was a psych experiment. But like, which would be weirder: an actual for real sentient magical castle that kind of eats people, or something the psych wonks thought up while they were all drunk one night?

I think I'll put my money on the drinking one! But then again, after all of this, I'm starting to think that anything really is possible...!

Yeah, there's some weird shit going down. Like. A talking penguin. And a talking horse. And Vanyel does like for real magic. I don't know, man. The universe is big and cool!

Magic tricks sound cool, too. But with everything I've seen back home, it'd have to be some kind of magic to really look different!

The penguin's name is Frobisher and the pony is Cheese Sandwich, and I bet you'll meet them. They're really nice. You should also meet Vision! He's a maroon. Uh. Android. And he flies. [And doesn't poop, but at the last minute she decides to not say that. Tact! She's learning it!]

It's not like tricks though. Like with cards. Actual magic from what Vanyel said. I don't know, it's really weird. What kind of stuff have you seen on your planet? Cool stuff?

Cheese... Sandwhich. [He finds the name odder than the fact that it's a talking pony.] I... guess I'll keep my eyes open.

Oh, you bet! Where do I start? [Then he bamfs and appears on the roof of the ship, dangling upside down into the feed's range while surrounded by a cloud of quickly dispersing smoke.]

[He laughs, that was quite the reaction!]

How? Well... It's just something I do! That's just how mutations roll.

Mutations? [... Is that a science thing?] So other perks can do that where you're from? How big a distance can that cover? You're so cool!

[She wishes she could do that. Maybe she wouldn't have broken every bone in her body after being thrown out of that building...]

Gee, thanks! Um, well, a mutant is when a human's born with some random change to their genes. And it usually comes with some kind of power! My mutation? It's kind of unique! I haven't met anyone else who can go poof on me. And, um, the farthest I've ever gotten has been two miles!

Two miles? Wow! That's really cool though. Man, there's just so much you can do I bet.

Random gene changes, though... Do you guys like not go through genetic screening when you get implanted? Or is it the kind of thing that happens after? [The while process is rather abstract for her, to be honest. She's never had kids.] Not that I'm saying it's bad! Because you're super cool and what you do is amazing. It just sounds weird to me. I don't think there are. Uh. Mutations where I'm from maybe.

Yeah, I guess I can do a whole lot! [His tone shows that his ego feels very pumped up at the moment.] I just have to have an idea of where I'm going.

[But he looks increasingly concerned by what she's talking about.]

G-genetic screening? I never heard of that... That sounds kind of scary, honestly. We don't have anything like that at all. We just find out about mutations as - as they develop. It just... happens. [He'll just let the fridge horror of her statement sink in for a moment. Genetic screening... no mutations...]
