That totally counts. Toph doesn't argue with people she doesn't care about. She just kicks their butts. The banter's important.

I'm not sure that I've had one of those before. How can you tell?

It's like having a friend, except more? Like, it's somebody you could tell anything to, that you know they'd always have your back and you'd always have theirs.

Oh. I suppose Meera might be my best friend, then. But I can't tell her everything.

Well, it's a start? Like, if she's someone you feel really close to, who you know wouldn't ever turn their back on you, that'd be a best friend.

I don't think she would. She and her brother are trying to help me.

Then that's a good start. The fact she wants to help says a whole lot. Sometimes, it's hard to find people who'll put themselves out for others.

He's a friend of mine. He's the Avatar. Uh, it means he can do something noone else in my world can. He gets reborn into a new body every time he dies. He's super important for the balance of the world.

How many bodies has he been in?
